Namjoon was finishing up his homework before he had to report to the cram school that he tutored at for a number of classes which included English. He smirked as he looked at his phone to see a message from his friend Jackson. It seemed that there was going to be a schedule update for the student tutors. After sending off a quick reply to Jackson, Namjoon carefully packed up his own work and began his walk across campus to where the cram school offices were greeting former students as he walked there.
When he walked in he saw a few students waiting to speak with the group tutors to see if they had any space in their groups.
"Good afternoon Namjoon," said Moon Byul as she looked up from her computer and smiled at the younger student tutor. While she looked up her hands were still typing out responses to emails or live chat replies.
"Good Afternoon Byul-noona," Namjoon greeted as he slipped past the desk catching her shocked look that became a smile.
"About time Namjoon, I thought that I was going to go grey haired waiting for you to call me Noona," Byul said as she laughed a bit and turned her attention back to her computer screen.
"Of course not noona, and if you had gained any grey hairs you would only look wiser for them," he said and went to the schedule bulletin board. He saw Jackson standing there frowning at the schedules.
"What's wrong Jackson?" Namjoon asked as he moved to stand beside his friend.
"Nothing Namjoon, just no tutoring for me yet," he said sounding worried.
"Really I would have thought you would have had a flock of people waiting for you this month," Namjoon said a small chuckle sounding as a wounded look crossed Jackson's face.
"They Just don't know how awesome it would be to learn Chinese from me that's all," Jackson said sounding so very dramatic.
Shaking his head Namjoon went to look at his schedule. He saw that he had one new student a Jeon Jungkook for English three days a week.
"Of course our resident genius gets the new student," Jackson says laughing "I hope he's a good studier for you," he finished as he went to see if he could help the group tutors by helping them and starting another group for his stronger subjects.
Namjoon sighed as he watched Jackson leave the schedule area. It seemed that he had a new student to get acquainted with so he walked over to where the student profiles were put to await the teacher or student tutor. As he looked over the profile to get a good feel for his student he saw the address and session block time start. He noticed that he had picked the early evening block which he didn't mind; it allowed him time to do his own studies. Flipping through the profile he saw some of the examples of how his English work was looking and got a small feel for how far they had to go to get him caught up. It did seem that Jungkook had a semi-decent feel for words but not quite on college level.
As he finished looking over the profile he was trying to formulate a plan on how to work the lessons and how they would go to include time to work on speaking English. The plan he was working on would make his student more comfortable with the language and let them feel like it was as easy to reach for as Korean was for them on a day to day basis.
Looking at his watch he realized he had to go and drive to his student's home. He carefully packed away the profile which was his copy, then he bid the others farewell as he had to get to Jungkook's place for the lesson.
It was 4:20pm when he reached the door of a nice family home. Namjoon hoped that he was not going to be intruding on family time or their family meal if their lesson went over. Taking a calming breath Namjoon knocked and waited. He heard the sound of feet rushing to get to the door. When the door was opened he saw the freshman smile up at him with an adorable bunny like smile. "Hello Seonbae," the boy he assumed was Jeon Jungkook greeted.
"Hello Jeon Jungkook, I am Kim Namjoon and I will be your tutor," Namjoon said introducing himself.
Jungkook smiled and motioned for him to follow him in. As Namjoon walked into the doorway he carefully took off his shoes and saw how the rooms seemed to have things strewn about them above lightly lived in conditions. It felt like the rooms were not well kept as he was led into the kitchen area and shown a large table for them to work at and Namjoon hoped that this was not the norm for his newest student's living arrangement because he was not impressed by what he was seeing except for the kitchen.
