The prison house of Beacon Hill, one of the strangest buildings the Hale family had acquired, also being one of the properties that Peter Hale had no reason or desire to keep, so without a second thought, he decided to put it up for sale. After two years without any non-committed offers for the building, the decision was made to demolish it and clear out the debris from land of both the house and the prison, and just sell the land for the profit. Once he decided to demolish it, no one would come to do the demo. He called several demolition crews and offered a large sum over the cost to do the demolition and not one would take the job. The job, the house and the property for some reason were blacklisted. The building itself was still in good condition, it was a three-story family house, that had been abandoned after the prison caught fire and killed over three hundred inmates and staff. It was the largest number of inmates deaths in any prison in the states. The fire itself was well known to have been set by inmates, who were protesting treatment. Now the house is said to be haunted by the prison's warden. In the early thirties the building had caught fire killing all but a few of the large family.. Derek Hale knew the story was so reminiscent of what happened to his family in his house, that he needed to know what centered around the building after the fire.
Derek was going to go to the prison house posing as a ghost hunter with a group that was already there. He wanted to get some incite from the hunters as to what was going on with the property, but the hunters didn't want any new folks so he would just walk in with them anyway. Peter desperately wanted to know why it was blacklisted without anyone finding out who actually owned it. On the scheduled day Derek drove up to the ruins of the prison he noticed at the site there was almost nothing left of the actual prison except for the bottom foot or so of the cinder blocked walls. Mentally the feeling it gave him overwhelmingly reminded him of his home after the Hale fire, not the sight, because most of their house was still intact, but the feeling in the air.Driving away to house that was located at the right back part of the prison, he parked. Derek searched for the ghost hunting group, which was meeting in the front of the building, and he needed to be a part of this group to use them as his cover.
Being the first time, he had seen the house in person, Derek could see and feel the houses presence. In the moon light the building was eerie looking, the house itself was a large menacing building three stories tall, it had a weathervane that reflected the moon right into Derek's eyes, it was almost like an omen. The house itself had all the windows and doors on the bottom sub floor bricked up. There were also doors that entered from ground level and the windows were at ground level, so they were bricked up as well. The actual first floor was about 7 feet off the ground, with concrete steps going up to the porch that also had boarded up wooden doors. All the windows and doors on this level were only boarded up not bricked .. Derek got there and obviously didn't know any of the seven people standing huddled in a circle. He started getting stares from one of the men in front of him.
"You're not one of our regulars!" Derek looked at him curiously, he was trying to determine if he wanted to tell him to shut up that he owned the building they were trespassing in, or just go with the flow.
"I ah, signed up last minute." the young man turned and went on his business and headed towards the door. The other young man in front of him, who also seemed to be a leader, tore the doors open without care and all eight people slowly entered the building. Derek was getting pissed but chose again to just go with the flow.
Once Derek walked into the building his heightened wolf senses, immediately felt uncomfortable. The dust that was being stirred up by the intruders were going through the moon light beams coming from the cracks in the boarded windows. The dust itself seemed to be caught in a strange draft of air, but Derek looked and felt around to find the draft. The dust just looked like in several spots it was being walked through. He could feel mind's eye opening him to another explanation of the assurance happening in front of him. So, with all the supernaturalish occurrences happening in front of him, Derek decided to go off by himself, he wouldn't need a flashlight with his wolfy eyes.
