Chapter 6

Maya's POV

His mom? Why would he be arguing with his mom. She's like, super nice. Adam and I come up behind Lucas and I put my head on his shoulder so that his mom can see me. She stops talking and smiles and then she, frowns a little.

"Oh hi Maya" she says with a slight smile

"Hi Mrs. Friar" I said

"Lucas come on say bye to your friends now, we have to pack" His mom said

"Pack?" Adam asked

"Oh, he, he didn't tell u yet." mrs friar frowned

"Tell us what?" I asked and looked at Adam then back at Lucas's mom

"We are moving" she said

I took my head off of Lucas's shoulder. He turned and faced me looking heart broken. I looked over to Adam who looked like he was gonna cry, which made me want to cry. I turned around and went for the stairs, but Lucas grabbed my wrist.

"Maya I'm sorry. I should've told you and Adam and -" I cut him off

"Shut it. I don't want to hear your crap." I said and stormed up the stairs

I decided to go downstairs. I've been upstairs crying for the past two hours. I mean, he's annoying and stuff, but I love him and he didn't even tell Adam or I. Like really? Ugh. I went into the kitchen and go a cookie and some milk and sat down at the table.

"Maya, u ok?" Adam asked walking into the kitchen

"Yea...u?" I asked

"Uh yea, kinda" he said

"I'm really sorry" I said

"Why?" He asked

"He's your best friend, u two do everything together" I said

"Yea well he WAS our best friend" Adam sighed

"I can't believe he didn't tell us" i said

"Yea" Adam said

"Ugh! I'm so mad at him" I said

"Maya, I'm sure this isn't easy for him either. After u went upstairs he started yelling at his mom and went home" Adam said

"Oh" Is all I said

*ding dong*

"Maya-"

"I'll get it" I said not wanting to argue knowing Lucas wasn't there to break us up

I opened the door.

"Maya I'm sorry." Lucas said

"I know" I said and hugged him and he hugged back

I hugged him. He usually hugs me. I never really want to hug either one of them, but this was different. He's leaving and I WANTED to hug him.

"Wow. Maya's actually hugging Lucas without screaming. They must've made up or something." Adam said trying to make things easier

"Hey man, I'm sorry" Lucas said

"We're cool bro, I can't stay mad at ️ya" Adam said and they bro hugged

"Why didn't you tell us though?" I asked

"Maya, I didn't know how to say it, or when" Lucas sighed

"Why? Why are you moving? When?" I asked

"My dad, he got transferred. We leave...um....Friday" Lucas stuttered

Friday? Friday?!? Are you freakin kidding me?!? He tells us that he's leaving a week before he leaves?!

"Wh- what?" Adam stuttered

"You leave in a week. That's what u just said? A week! Are you serious Lucas! What the hell?!?" I yelled getting upset

"Maya that's what I came to tell you guys, ok, chill" Lucas said

"You probably shouldn't have said that" Adam said going upstairs

Did he just tell me to chill? O MY GOD! He wants me to kill him.

"What did u just say?" I said getting in his face

"I..um..said....just...um chill" Lucas said nervously

"Chill? Oh yeah, sure I'll chill. Of course, because you frickin tell your best friends that your are MOVING a WEEK before you leave. Do u know how much that hurts Lucas!?!?! Like what the hell!?! I seriously can't believe you right now! And then YOU have the nerve to tell me to CHILL! U know what just leave! I can't take this Lucas!" I yelled

I felt bad, but I also had to get that off my chest. I mean, really? Like I'm so mad right now, I just, I can't even.

"Maya- I- I'm-"

"Sorry? Yeah u already said that to both Adam and I." I sassed

"Fine I'll leave." Lucas said

"Let me get the door for u." I said sarcastically

"Seriously, Maya." Lucas said

"Seriously." I said coldly and closed the door on him and I slid against the door.
