The Salvatore's reluctantly drop Elena off at her house, after loads of persuasion from Elena herself. Elena felt the need to be alone that night, she didn't feel right to be with either Stefan or Damon considering her mind kept wandering to think about the hot and mysterious 'original' vampire from earlier that day. Elijah had completely taken a hold over her mind.

"Why am I so consumed by you, Elijah?" She whispered to herself, seeking an answer to a question that nor she or anyone knew the answer too. She fell asleep there, trying to find an answer.

Elijah stood there outside Elena's house, smiling to himself. He had a witch do a locator spell to find out where exactly Elena lived. He had heard what she said and felt quite proud that he somehow managed to weasel his way into her mind. As she was sleeping, he had been listening to her heartbeat, he found it calming and peaceful to listen to. He jumped up, on edge, when he had heard a vampire speed around him, but he wasn't worried for himself, more for Elena. He used his hearing in order to hear inside Elena's bedroom and that's where he heard the eldest Salvatore's confession.

"I love you, Elena." Damon whispered, hoping she'd hear it and feel the same, but he knew that it was impossible. "You not only mean so much to me but to my brother too, in our 160 years of being vampires, I've never seen my brother so happy then when he is with you. Which is why i can't be selfish with you. My brother deserves happiness and with you he can get that." He leaned down and kissed her forehead softly. Damon noticed Elena begin to stir in her sleep, which gave him the cue to leave.

With every word that the vampire spoke, Elijah's jealously and protectivness grew. He swore to himself he would not let the Salvatore's have the gorgeous doppleganger for much longer.

The next day, Elena woke up feeling very ill. She got up and went downstairs and made a cup of coffee, stumbling on her way down. She sat down on her sofa and called Stefan, she knew if anyone was going to be there for her it would be him.

She had fallen asleep just after her call with Stefan and was awoken by the doorbell ringing. Figuring it must be her boyfriend, she weakly walked to the door, fixing her messy light brown hair. She opened the door and a shocked expression incaptured her facial features, she saw the mysterious vampire Elijah stood before her.

"Hello, Elena was it?" She weakly nodded at him, grabbing her head as a searing pain errupted through it. "Woah, careful there." He grabbed her as she fell to the floor.

"I'm okay, thank you." She stated as she got out of his arms, even tho she felt comfortable and safe within them. "Weren't you supposed to be dead?" She asked confusion laced through her voice.

"I have been dead, for centuries now." He smirked at her, but worry was soon cast upon his facial features as Elena coughed and nearly fell over again.

"Can I please come in? I can help you Elena, you seem very sick." Elijah begged, he wanted nothing more then to help the doppleganger in front of him.

"I'm fine really, Elijah. You don't need to help me." She smiled weakly at him. "But you can come in if you want." Elijah sped through the door and picked Elena up bridal style. Despite her constant pleas of disapproval, he carried upstairs and into bed.

"Please rest, lovely Elena." He begged her, she sighed as she stared at him.

"I'm fine, Elijah." She reassured him, he shook his head and gently pushed her back down when she tried to get back up.

"No you're not, you look really ill, you should rest for today." Elijah demanded her, she rolled her eyes while he looked at her with a serious face.

"My boyfriend, Stefan, will be here soon. And if he sees you here, he'll hurt you." She warned him, not wanting him to get hurt. Elijah rolled his eyes at the mention of Stefan, his jealous side taking over.

"Your boyfriend could not hurt me, even if he tried." Elijah stated confidently. Elena shook her head, not fully knowing that Elijah really couldn't be hurt that bad. Sleep began to overtake her body as Elijah stared at her in awe, to him she was the most beautiful women he had laid his eyes on.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Stefan yelled at him, Elijah turned around and smirked at Stefan.

"Hello Stefan." Elijah greeted as he walked towards him.
