One true friend

Sorry to throw you all into the story but I hate the slow sappy starts that most books start with. Hope you guys like it. This is my first book so please vote and comment I love constructive criticism. Thank you.

Hi I'm Rachel I am seventeen years old and am of average height. I live with my mum Jackie, my dad Ed, and my brother Max. I also live with a little bundle of fluff that is Monty ( I know not exactly an original name for a dog but I'm not going to change it )

Today started like any normal day in my little world that I call 'Life'. It was a Monday so I woke up dreading that that today I would have double science that was my worst subject (who sets homework over the winter holidays) After, everyone would have break, that would be the only time to catch up with my friends Jess and Charlotte and my best friend Kacey. After break I would have IT that I also didn't like, then I have PE that as you could guess was not one of my favourite subjects, even when it's outside in the cold and we're playing football, (get the sarcasm) but I enjoy it because me and my friends are quite crazy when we have energy. After PE we would get changed quickly to go to lunch because our PE teacher would always let us in late. During lunch we would go to film club where we would watch a James Bond, but not one that had Sean Connery in, and go to our next lessons. After lunch I would have drama with Jess and a boy called James would flirt with me failing to get me interested in him. Whilst Liam would sing love songs to Emily which would embarrass her and crack the rest of us up. Then after that I would have RE that was not the most exciting of all the subjects but I was good at it.

I went into the bathroom have a shower and wash my hair. Washing and drying my hair was easy because it was short cut into a bob. My hair was a natural strawberry blonde and after I dry my hair it straightens and I hate that. After I threw on a pair of tight, tan chinos and a cream top that had three quarter length sleeves, a V-neck cut and was figure hugging. I packed my bag with my school books, a few pens and pencils and a drink I also got my phone and put it in my pocket. Doing all of the important stuff first left me able to do my makeup after. I don't like bright or dark colours so I put on some bronze eyeliner and some calico coloured eye shadow along with a little bit of mascara to finish off my eyes. I would then put a little bit if blusher on and concealer to hide any dark freckles. When I was finished I went down stairs got some bread and butter from the kitchen and put on my favourite boots. They were brown and had an inch heel that made me feel tall and made me look like I had long legs. Because it was January I put on a navy blue coat that had a hood that was too big for me, some black and white fingerless/mitten gloves and a white and black heart snood that I tucked into my coat. My mother came downstairs to get her lunch and breakfast. My mother called Jackie was smaller than me by an inch maybe two when I was wearing my boots. She was wearing some brown working trousers and a red and white polka dot top with some silver bangles and a silver necklace that had a centre charm of a flower. She rushed into the kitchen onto the hard wood floor with the clicking heals of her brown knee length boots staying tightly on her feet.

"Tell me when the toast is ready", she told me not knowing that I was in the hall.

"Ok", I answered walking into the kitchen where mum was getting her lunch ready.

"Oh darling you look so grown up", mum said trying to hug me and poking my cheeks but me declining it and moving her hands.

"Don't do that", I took a step back and got the toast out of the toaster.

I felt a buzz in my pocket. It was my phone I had gotten a text from Kacey.

- I'm outside. Hurry up~Kacey-

I replied.

- Wait waiting for mum we'll give you a lift to school~Rachel-

I went to open the door to let Kacey in when my little brother jumped on my back.
