--: "What is going on?" said Katara to her brother and father. She walks into an important meeting they have with newly crowned Firelord Zuko. Katara looks at both men and later at Zuko. She entered there coming the moment when they were going to decide on the peace treaty for both nations. Sokka and Hakkota look at Katara and try to speak. But both men can't because they know Katara won't like the idea. The rest of the man stares at the young water bender and then at her family to see which one will talk first. None of them talk except there was a cold silence in the room. Iroh, Zuko's uncle and grand lotus stood up and said:
--: "We are discussing the new peace treaty between the Fire Nation and Water Tribe."
--: "Oh, and why I wasn't invited," said Katara. She was the crown princess of the tribe since she recently discovers that her mother's blood relationship in the North was close to the royal family. Sokka would rule the North well; she rules the South. She was wondering what type of peace treaty it was since she was in the arrangement meeting. Then she thought the worst was a marriage alliance with the Fire Nation. She looked away and said, "Tell me the truth?"
--: "What is it, Princess Katara?" Iroh asks, surprised.
--: "That I am marrying Zuko," she answered his question.
Everybody murmured about the sock that brought her response. Sokka and Hakkota look surprised and question each other by looking. Zuko stood up and walked towards Katara. She didn't say anything when Zuko come to her. He whispers to her something in her ear. She nodded to him in response. He nodded back to her, answering her answered, and later walk back to his place and sat there with a grim face. Katara stays quiet and looks away during the meeting. In the end, the men left the tent of the meeting well Katara and Zuko stay behind. Zuko walks towards her again and hugs her. Katara hugged him back and started to cry into his chest. Zuko tightens his grip to comfort her. They stay like that for some time before they separate.
--: "Tell me the truth now, Zuko," Katara said.
--: "Well, the original treaty was void because of the fire raids done by the fire nation to the South Water Tribe. They wanted a more lasting pact than commercial friends know. No one knows how until Aang and you broke up a couple of days ago," Zuko said.
--: "What? Because I am single now, that doesn't mean that I have to be sold into this. Could you do anything?" she asked him.
--: "I couldn't because they did it behind my back as well. Believe me, I should have stopped it but couldn't Katarit think about it for a minute. We are both single, and everyone wants something everlasting," Zuko answered quite honestly.
--: "But a marriage Zuko? We are competing with each other for a lifetime is not a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship," she said.
--: "I knew Katara, but that doesn't mean anything to anyone," he said.
--: "What does this mean, Zuko?" she asks.
--: "It means that it is time to settle down for both of us and take pleasure out once in our lives," he answered, taking her hands.
--: "What pleasure if we have responsibilities, Zuko. We both are rulers of our nations that doesn't count for something," she said honestly.
--: "I have the responsibility of the nation, but you won't until your father for the dies. That can take years, Katara, and the only thing required from the fire lady is so little than the fire lord," Zuko explains.
--: "Still, Zuko, our responsibility will take time and lives," she said, honestly.
--: "They want that much. I can guarantee that Katara I want this to work Katara more than just follow nations but for us as well," he said, loving to me.
--: "Why are you doing this then, Zuko?" Katara asks curies.
--: "I am doing this because I know why you and I won't break up, Katara. I knew it won't work since Aang is still a child doesn't matter how mature turn out in the past years; there is still that childish inside him. You need more equality than being a mother figure to your partner. Also, I took the time to clear my head about my feelings toward you," Zuko said.
--: "What feelings, Zuko?" she asks curies.
--: "Katara, I love you and wanted you to know so long ago, but I couldn't say it because of Aang. But now with this arrangement there could be a us. Katara, I can be yours if you accept this arrangement," he answered.
--: "I will accept the arrangement Zuko is to help my people and forget Aang," she said, happy.
--: "Forget Aang, that's what Sokka said," he said with a smile.
--: "Huh, what did Sokka say to you," she said, annoyed.
--: "That you have feelings for someone else much stronger than Aang's, you go away with him to forget the other person," Zuko said with a grin.
--: "Well, it was so then it didn't work. Believe me. I couldn't forget him," she said, coming closer to Zuko.
--: "Can I ask you something, Katara?" Zuko asks.
--: "Yes, you can," she answered.
--: "Who is that you love, Katara? I need to know my competition," he said happily.
--: "I am seeing him right in front of me. There is no competition for you, Zuko, because I love you too," she admits to him.
--: "How long have you loved me, Katara?" he asks, happy and curious.
--: "How long, Zuko? I have been in love with you since the day you gain my trust. Zuko, I love you with all my heart, and there is no man other than you for me," she answered him, happy with a kiss on the cheek.
--: "That such at I get a kiss on the check Katara," he said with a grinning face.
--: "Well, for now," she said with a giggle.
--: "I won't want my love," he said, leaning into her lips. Katara meets halfway to his lips. They kiss passionately for some time. Then the couple went towards the haunt where Katara's family live. They live happily with this decision taken by the others for them.
