After the ruckus that went down this morning with your adopted daughter, both you and Demi decide that from now on, it's best to keep doctors appointment secret.

Your daughter, Maia, clung onto you, trying to prevent this appointment from happening, to keep you from going in the entry way. Demi was able to pry her off of you and carried her as she buried her face in Demi's shoulder and cried while wrapping her arms around her neck. Maia was still young, but she was old enough to understand doctor appointments and because of that, she was frightened to even go in. Even after you tell her it would be nothing more than a regular check up routine and would be over before she knew it, that didn't seem to help her relax.

As you make your way in, she let out a sob as Demi hands her over to you so that she could go check in for the appointment.

Although you had tried your best in anyway you could think of, it didn't seem to be enough. You continued to bond with Maia until Demi approaches her way back to you and as she took her seat beside you, Maia lifted her arms up to her, indicating that she wanted Demi to hold her on her lap. You often find this hard for you because you sometimes feel as though Maia didn't want to bond with you at all, however, you try to not let yourself think of it that way, as you were were willing to do whatever it took to help comfort her out of your unconditional love.

"Mommy! I want mommy Demi to hold me."

You look over at Demi to make sure she would be alright with that, and she nodded her head in agreement as her response to your questioning eyes.

"Okay, here you go sweetie."

Just as you help Maia get settled on Demi's lap, the nurse came up front and called in your turn. You felt your heart shatter as you hear Maia bury her face in Demi's shoulder again while letting out another son. As Demi pick themselves up, you get up to follow behind, than Maia looks at you before extending her hand out towards you, indicating she wanted you to hold it, and you did.

It begins with the usual questions, and when asked who the child's guardians were, Maia answers for you.

"Mommy Demi and mommy Y/n."

The nurse smiled as she enters it in before getting up to notify the doctor you were ready to see him, which didn't take long at all.

Doctor Mason walked into and kindly greets you both as well as your daughter. Once she gets a brief explanation and getting to know him better, she relaxes and allows the appointment to follow through without protests. As said before, it was quick a easy regular routine, you were out of there just as fast from when you first walked in.

As you walked back to your car, you and Demi decide to treat Maia with an ice cream stop at cold stone for being brave by going to see the doctor.
