Chapter 1: Promise Eternal

The year is 2027. The day is rainy and gloomy, maybe even boring. There is no one on the street besides a fluffy grey husky, and a man in a suit, maybe walking to his office or work pace.

I sit in my room quietly as I happily finish my summer homework, as a small bead of sweat rolled down my cheek from the horrible hot weather. I sit down on my soft bed and connect my PowerVR headset, a new VR device the came out around 2025. I put on the headset and turn it on. I enter the only available game, "Promised Eternal".

The scenery is beautiful, with the red, orange, and yellow ombre trees, with a few evergreen trees dotted here and there evenly. There are many clouds, yet there is a light sprinkle in the Fall Forest. There are leaves falling all over. It's a bit chilly, enough to need a thin sweater or a long sleeve T-Shirt.

I hop into the game and take in the extraordinarily designed scenery. There's a few people outside the Starter town where most players under the level 30 hangout. I open my holographic menu and open my inventory. I take out my Midnight Cloak. The cloak is so dark it is similar to a void. I also equip my sharp pointed Bat Umbrella. I walk into town from the spawn stone, and I look through the shops to see if anything interesting peaks my interest. I see something that looks like some kind of large rabbit. I walk up and ask the store NPC what it is. The NPC explains that it is actually a type of large bush fruit, and that t grows similar to how a pineapple would. The NPC did not give me a name for the fruit so I bought it either way and moved on. I walked around for maybe 10 minutes and I see an odd looking dagger I'd never seen before. I walk up to inspect the dagger. It is shaped similar to a scythe and it has glowing sea blue colored carvings of letters or maybe words I can not read, nor could the store's NPC. I buy that as well with my many coin credits, "Garcoins". I walk around a bit more and find my fight partner Steamy, a KNPC. A KNPC is a fighter NPC the stays with you if you so choose, and they can even fight bosses and mini bosses with you. We start talking about what boss we fight next. We are both level 17 at the moment so that means we get to choose between fighting mini bosses to up our XP or to fight the level 18 boss which will immediately up our level to 18 after defeating the boss.
