Ray POV

I sat in the library, sulking. I didn't say goodbye. What kind of friend am I? You know, I used to say I'm a vampire to the little kids, to scare them. But at this point, I probably am a vampire. It's been a month and a half since Norman's shipment. Have I gone outside once? No. Gotten sleep? No. Eaten? No. And on the rare occasion someone makes me eat, I just throw it back up from the unsettling feeling it has in my stomach. Though, I don't tell anyone about that. You know, compared to Norman, I'm not that clever. Quite frankly, I can be dense sometimes. But that didn't stop me from knowing what he did.

I overheard him and Emma talking. He told her about my plan to set myself on fire, and told her to stop me. How he found out about my plan, I'm pretty sure he must have looked where I kept my rewards from being Mom's 'lap dog' and saw the oil and the matches. He's smart like that. But, I probably should have asked Mom for a gun, so I could kill her and not raise suspicion.

Well, Norman would probably gain suspicion of me. Maybe. Sitting down where I was, I hummed the melody to 'Fireflies', a song from the twenty's or so. I liked the melody, it sounded like a nice song to me. Mom let me listen to it one time. It sounded like a song Norman would like. The library door creaked open and a soft "Hello?" echoed around. What was Anna doing here? I let a grumble out, to let her know I was here and that I didn't wanna talk to her. She seemed to get the hint because when she spoke next she was stuttering.

"M-Mom s-said t-to go d-down s-stairs, a-and dinner i-is r-rea-dy." I stuck my tongue out showing I wasn't interested and she bowed quickly before muttering a rushed apology and something along the lines of 'I'll tell Mom you were busy' before she rushed out. I rolled my eyes at her and continued sulking.

Today, I was forced to go outside, so instead of playing tag, I read a book.

Emma was sitting by another tree surrounded by Nat, Lannion, Thoma and Anna. I focused on my book. In this chapter, the main characters best friend has died. And her other best friend didn't try and save him, even though he could. The protagonist yelled at her, now, only best friend. Yelling about how he could have saved her best friend. About how it was his fault. I closed the book and threw it away, causing a few people to look at me, but I didn't care. I just needed to get out of here. I stood up and made a run for the forest.

Once I was in the forest, I didn't stop running. I ran to and past the fence and then to the wall. I looked at the wall, it was tall and thick. How did Norman get up? Actually, he never said how. Bummer, as stupid as he can be, the idiot can sometimes be useful. I took a few steps back and looked back at the wall. I was stronger and faster than Norman, and my stamina was better too, so how difficult could this be?

I ran towards the wall and when I got close enough ran up the wall. Did I make it to the top?

No.

I fell back to the ground on my left arm which a crunch. Which is understandable, I haven't had food in my system for a month. Or milk. You know what, you get it. I'm pretty sure my arm is broken but, who cares? I'm not gonna scream.
