Fitz stood, staring. She was so beautiful. He had loved her for ages, and this was finally time to tell. To know if they were meant to be. There once had been another one, but that was before he met the girl of his dreams.

She shimmered in the sun and Fitz's knees buckled. She was just SOOOOO lovely when the sun's rays hit her crystals. Chandli was her name, and, for once, Fitz believed he was in love.

"Chandli, I believe we are meant to be together! I will never leave you! Please say you will go out with me!!" Fitz flashed his 'movie star' smile.

Chandli did not reply. This was expected. It's not everyday someone as 'handsome' as Fitz declared their love to just a lowly chandelier.

"Fitz come inside RIGHT NOW!!" Alden shouted from the door. "We need to have a talk!"

Fitz turned back to the love of his life. "I will return before nightfall. Hopefully you will have made your decision by then", said Fitz, and then headed inside.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ughhh... what did you want to talk about..." Fitz said. He was seething. His father had just interrupted a very important conversation.

"I wanted to talk to you about... the chandelier... in the yard..." Alden said carefully.

"What about her?" Fitz said. "She was sick of hanging from the ceiling and she needed some fresh air."

"Also Biana said you've been spending a lot of time with it... and talking to it."

"HER, NOT "IT"!!!! STOP BEING SO DISRESPECTFUL!!! YOU KNOW YOU DON'T OWN HER!!! ALSO, AREN'T I ALLOWED TO PICK MY OWN GIRLFRIENDS!!!!" Fitz screamed. He was tired of the way his family treated Chandli.

"Fitz, you can't date a chandelier." Alden's voice was firm. Now go upstairs and finish your homework. We'll talk more later."

Fitz stormed all the way to his room, ignoring his mom, Della, when she asked, "Are you alright?" and ignoring Biana giggling in the corner.

He came to his room and sighed in relief. Chandli had been able to sneak in as he had asked, and was lounging on his chair.

"Tonight we're leaving, Chandli." Fitz said "We'll finally be free. Done with my parents judging you. We can go and see the world. You should go pack. Be ready in an hour."

Chandli stared at him blankly, and Fitz sighed. "You're right. It's too early. But soon. I can't stand it here"

Fitz laid down in his bed. "But if it gets worse, I'm out the first chance I get."
