"What are we, Clay?" George demanded an answer. He couldn't stand Clay's expressionless face anymore. The brunette felt his tears starting to build up because he knew where this conversation could possibly lead to. The boy didn't care about repercussions, he just wanted answers immediately.

Nothing but pure silence engulfed the air and the playfulness that was once here, suddenly vanished. George's heart rapidly raced, his hands got sweaty and the floor got extremely uncomfortable. He quickly glanced at Clay to see what he looked like. But nothing painted his face, not even a single worried look.

"Well... what would you say we are?"

"I asked that to you," George replied without missing a beat, he was getting tired of Clay always replying with another question.

"What do you want me to say? That we are lovers? Friends? Soulmates? There are no words to define this." He finally looked at George with icy eyes that not even the hottest flame could melt.

As time goes slowly by, the sky starts to change its colors from cerulean to dark denim blue. George couldn't stand this situation he just created, he had enough of this - constantly drowning in his pile of emotions, getting tired of false hope, trying to befriend the person in front of him even if they are something more, regularly being let in but the next second getting cut off. Maybe, just maybe, all of this wouldn't have happened if he just ignored Clay from the get-go.

"But then. But then why did you let this whole thing continue if you..."

"If you knew you are uncomfortable with people liking you?" George looked down at his hands, he was shaking in fear. He wished he was home, wrapped in its comforting darkness and safe arms of soothing atmosphere.

"I think you already know why. You see, I warned you about me liking the idea of breaking someone's heart and messing with them. Yet you chose to ignore it." Clay looked out of the window. He knew he said the brutal and hard-hitting truth and he also knew that George fathoms it as well.

"So I don't see—"

"Was it fun to play around with me like that?" An extensive flood of wrath poured into George's already tense body as he shifted in his cozy and heated seat on the pillows.

"Was it?" The brunette asked in a whisper, already letting his tears slip out of his eyes. He couldn't stand being here anymore. He couldn't look into Clay's eyes right now. George felt like he was suffocating, he needed to get out of here, and quick.

"Are you telling me.. that you didn't see this coming?" The dirty blond boy turned to look at George again and let a mischievous smile grow on his lips with zero sympathy.

"After all... You are the one who went to do this." Those words hit George's heart like a rock sinking deeper into the ocean. He couldn't believe that the boy he liked for so long could be this ruthless and uncompassionate. The male always grabbed onto the last bit of hope, but he failed to hold it this time.

"...That's... you're right..." George failed to maintain his composure. He stood up and started walking to the front door when suddenly Clay stopped him, getting ahold of George's wrist.

"Wait George I—"

"It's fine. You're right, it's my fault. And besides that, I can't even think straight right now." The male spoke softly.
