The rest of the train ride was uneventful the compartment was mostly silent apart from the four boys nick, Draco, blaise, and Ron talking now and then

Eventually, they arrived at Hogwarts, and to say harry was relieved was an understatement he was excited to be out of his mother's grasp for a while James and nick felt the same but all three still troubled and worried because it out of Lilly's grasp and straight into dumbledore's but they didn't worry about that right now they just focused on being excited about starting Hogwarts

By the time they reached the great hall, the six males were all chatting among themselves getting to know each other but nick stopped when he was in eye range of dumbledore and his order members

They zone out on what the teachers are saying and look around at the glory of Hogwarts until the first name was called

After a while, nick is finally called
"Potter, Nicholas" nick walked nervously to the sorting hat and sat on the three-legged stool his face black but James and Harry could tell he was nervous

After a good few minutes, the hat shouted "SLYTHERIN" The whole room gasped at the fact their Saviour was in Slytherin nicks face went from relief to panic in a millisecond he looked around the students until he found harry's eyes

Harry always seemed to calm him down even when they were little just looking into harry's eyes  seeing the calming emerald green grounded him to think straight

He slowly walked towards the table filled with Slytherins he sat down next to the previously sorted Blaise

"Potter, Harry" was shouted next Harry slowly made his way up to the stool once the hat was on his head the room was completely silent most of them didn't even know he even existed until 5 seconds ago

After about 5 minutes the hat again shouted "SLYTHERIN" a breath of relief left harrys mouth and he slowly made his way to where his brother was sat followed by his farther

After the sorting was finished and the food appeared everyone started eating except the two potter males who are not used to eating a lot only ate a little

Once the feast was done they were shown to their dorms where their luggage was waiting harry was rooming with Nick, Ron, blaise, and Draco

James has to stay in teachers quarters and since all of them are full he has to share with the potions teacher Severus snape since James would be part-time potions assistance

Once James knew Harry was okay and settled into his dorm with Nick he left to find his new room.
Once he found it he knocked on the door that said professor snape on it

"What do you want potter" snape spat James flinched away from him

"I-i-i w-well since I am part t-time potions a-assistant I have t-to share a-a r-room with you" he stuttered scared of getting hit by the taller Slytherin

Snape looked at him cautiously before letting him in they both walked into the Slytherin themed quarters James looked around amazed

"I know it's not to your usual standards potter but your gonna have to lump it" snape spat again James flinched at his tone

"Are you kidding its luxury!!" James said astounded he looked around the small apartment like quarters wanting to stay there forever

"What are talking about potter you live in a mansion a lot fancier and luxurious than this?!?!" Snape said confused

James suddenly noticed what he has done "ooh y-yeah I know," he said unconvincingly

Snape rolled his eyes "that door leads to your room my room is opposite don't disturb me I'm going to sleep" snape said while walking off to his room and going to sleep

James just stood their for a while processing the fact that he gets an actual bed a room no Lilly kicking him out of bed onto the floor no being beaten for snoring
