Chapter 2: The Letter...

~Rainbow Dash~

Rainbow woke up and got out of her comfy cloud bed reluctantly so she could clear the sky.

She quickly peeked into the guest room and saw Scootaloo still asleep. She shut the door again and walked to her kitchen.

There, she made some pancakes and ate a few. Light footsteps could be heard from the cloud staircase, and Rainbow saw Scootaloo approaching her with a messed up mane and tail.

"Hey, Rainbow Dash!" The little filly said drowsily, but still happily.

"Hi, Squirt, want some pancakes?" Dashie asked and Scootaloo nodded.

Rainbow passed a plate of pancakes to the filly who ate her food happily as Dash finished her own.

Once she was done, she placed her dish in the sink and flew upstairs to brush her tangled mane. She got to her room and used her brush to detangle her messy mane and tail. She glanced up at her Wonderbolts poster and remembered something.

'I'm getting my letter back today!' She thought to herself with a wide grin.

Rainbow knew she would definitely get in for sure. She practiced day and night for this!

Once her mane was done the way she liked it, Rainbow brushed her teeth and flew downstairs.

Scootaloo was putting her plate in the sink and walking up to the guest room to do her mane and brush her teeth.

She smiled at Dashie before ascending the staircase.

Rainbow flew out her door and up into the sky near some clouds where she swiftly got rid of them with ease.

"Ha. Cleared 60 clouds in ten seconds flat! Yeah!" She exclaimed and did a happy loop in the air. When she stopped, a grey pegasus mare with a yellow mane bumped into her.

"Sorry Dash! I didn't see you!" Derpy said apologetically.

"It's okay, Derpy. Do you have anything for me today!?" Rainbow said excitedly while smiling widely and doing a little dance.

"Uh.... Yeah! I do actually!" Derpy said while pulling out a letter with the Wonderbolts insignia on it. Rainbow grabbed it from the mare happily.

"Thanks, Derpy! Bye!" Dash said and flew to her house.

"You're welcome! Bye!" Derpy waved and went to the next cloud house.

Once Dash reached her house, she ran in excitedly while waving the letter around. She plopped down on her cloud couch and hastily ripped open her letter. Scootaloo walked over to the excited rainbow maned mare.

"What's that, Rainbow?" Scootaloo asked curiously motioning towards the letter.

"It's to see if I made it into the Wonderbolts academy!" Rainbow exclaimed while tearing the letter open. She quickly read over the letter and squeeled in excitement when she saw the little green check mark.

"You got in?!" Scootaloo asked in awe.

"Yeah!" Rainbow yelled and hugged the filly. Scootaloo laughed and hugged back.

"You should get ready to go!" Scootaloo told the cyan mare.

"Oh, yeah!" Rainbow said and flew upstairs to her bedroom, hastily grabbing things she would need for the trip. She stuffed it all in her saddle bag and threw it onto her back.

She flew back downstairs and hugged Scootaloo again.

"You can come see me on visiting day!" Rainbow told the little orange filly.

"Okay! Sounds fun! I'll ask Twilight if I could go with them to see you!" Scootaloo told Dash.

"See you then!" Rainbow says and rubs the filly's hair with her hoof briefly, then flew swiftly away, to the Wonderbolts academy.

~Scootaloo~

Scootaloo sat on the floor of Dash's cloud home and realized something.

She can't fly out of it onto the ground again.

"Uh oh," she said to herself as she began to worry. 'At least there is food and shelter here! But wait... how will I ask Twilight if I could go with them to see Dash on visiting day?!' She thought and began to panic. 'I guess I'll wait to think of a plan. Good thing it's vacation and I won't miss school!' Scootaloo thought and sat down to think of a plan. She just couldn't get an idea though.
