My eyes were so trained on the words that scared me half death, I almost didn't notice the crying body that was cramed into the corner. The figures had my mothers blonde hair that had been longer since the last time I actually saw her.

"M-Mom..?" I asked, slowly proceeding to the cowering figure.

Suddenly all was silent, my heart was beating so hard I'm sure my mom could hear it. She didn't move. That's what scared me the most.

A slight whimper escaped her lips, "Its all my fault." She said, as she shook AMD turned to me. Her green eyes that once showed some sort of sanity, faded away into her craziness as it took over. Her lips trembled along with her body, causing me to take a step back.

"He took your father now he will take you." She said with a heart breaking tone.

That set me off. . .

My face lit up in flames as anger took over me. "That's it!" I screamed in her face, "Dad died okay?! Dad is dead! Not by some stupid made up creature, He's dead because he got fire wood! I'm not getting taken away by a stupid octopus," I paused to think about my second move. "But your going away."

Those last words were the exact thing I promised I would never do to my mother. I promised everyone that I would stick it out, but damn it, this is to far.

The hunched lady turned to me with absolute fear in her eyes. Before I realized it, I was tackled to the ground by the heavy woman. "Please," she begged, "I need to protect you! I'm not crazy!" She screamed. This was no longer my mom. This is a monster.

My heart raced and I wanted to run. "Get off of me!" I screamed back, but everything changed. She clawed at my face, chanting words I couldn't comprehend. My screams of pain drowned the demonic chants away, but I understood 3 words: Deal, Cleanse, protect.

Blood streamed down my face and arms, which tried to block her, like tears that came from my eyes.

In what felt like forever, the old hag was pushed off of me. "Chanson! Are you okay?" Asked Jackie as he saw the blood. Tears came to my eyes as I held my baby brother close to me.

The woman got up from her spot on the ground and looked at us. A sly smirk played on her chapped lips with a cackle. "Go ahead. Die." She sai in the most calm tone I could ever hear. "I don't want to protect you anymore, it's taken everything out of me and you don't appreciate it." She said swaying towards me and my brother, who I held protectively on my lap. "But remember," she said before leaning down to my ear.

'Hes always watching. Don't fight it."

And before I knew it, she was in her room, the door locked and the sound of insane laughter was inside.
