Present-day

The beams of the warm, summer sun streamed through the ivory blinds, slicing the yellow light into tiny incandescent strips. The light filtered through Bright's eyelids as they gradually fluttered open. The man released an audible grunt of discomfort before he stretched out his cramped limbs. He'd awaken with a splitting headache, the pain in his skull ebbed and flowed like a cold tide. He was also plagued with a parched throat and a dry mouth, sticky with thick saliva.

He felt like absolute shit.

That was when he noticed just how plush and soft his surrounding was. He was in a bed but definitely not his own. The distinct floral scent amongst the sheets was foreign to him. Certainly neither his nor Gorya's preferred detergent scent. He wasn't in his own bedroom either as he took in the soft earthy green interior of the room which matched the sage coloured bed covers.

Where the hell was he and what happened last night?

Bright felt strangely calm despite waking up in an unknown place. There was a familiar and safe vibe to it that he could not explain. However, everything in his mind was an incomprehensible blur no matter how hard he tried to remember things. Nonetheless, he was more than relieved to find that his clothes were still on his body. While his wallet and car keys sat idly on a glossy grey dresser across the room. But his phone was nowhere in sight. Wait, that's right he remembered he'd left it behind at home. In conclusion, he did not engage in a one night stand nor get robbed. Thank god, he thought. Though his pressing questions still remained unanswered.

He pushed aside the covers and got up from the bed. He instantly felt the side effects of lying down in one position for far too long as his legs seemed to slightly wobble with each step. He reached the dresser where his belongings were placed to pocket them. But then, there beside his things was a bright yellow sticky note.

'Firstly, don't freak out. Nothing weird happened and I didn't take anything. I found you drunk at the club downstairs, you had no phone so I didn't know who to contact.

I left some toiletries you can use in the bathroom. When you're done please leave'

Bright arched a brow as he read the mysterious message; no name was signed on it. It had a somewhat comical undertone to it as whoever wrote it really tried to sound indifferent. Regardless, he gathered some helpful information from the note. He must've blackout drunk last night and some 'kind' stranger took him to their place that was conveniently above the nightclub (which name he still could not remember). Weird.
