Chapter 1
Six months later...

The 'Welcome to Beacon Hills' sign was the same as it was a few months ago. Maybe a bit rusty and a few scratches here and there. Tapping her thumbs on the steering wheel to the beat of the song on the radio, Stormi is passing the Beacon Hills preserve entrance. She looks in the distance into the woods, remembering there was the Hale house that caught on fire and almost the whole Hale family died there.
Stormi heard from her mom only one family member survived, but is comatose in the hospital. She remembers there was one of the family members in her grade, but she can't remember his name. 'He was cute, though. I wonder where he went.' As Stormi continues looking into the woods, she suddenly gets a weird feeling in her chest.

'I can't wait to see Scott and Mom.' Looking at her watch, it is 12:30 in the afternoon. By that time, Scott is in school and her mom is working right now. Driving towards the hospital, she felt the baby kicking her ribs.
"Calm down, little one. Mama is driving right now. Can you please stop kicking me?" Stormi says, as she painfully sighs and rubs her bump gently.
As soon as she turns the corner to the street where the hospital is located at, the baby stops kicking. She drives towards the entrance to the hospital parking lot and finds a parking spot not far from the hospital doors.
She gets out of her rental car carefully and locks her doors. She walks towards the hospital entrance and she gets to the lobby and starts looking for her mom there. Stormi didn't see her, so she went up to the lobby desk where the nurses were at.
She asks the older looking nurse sitting there, "Hey ma'am, I'm looking for a Melissa McCall. She is my mom. Can you tell me where she is?"
