Chapter 1

Sunlight came running from the window as i slept soundly, smiling i woke up giving a happy sigh as i loved the sunlight. Even as a baby it never failed to energize me, hence my parents named me 'Alina' which meant light in greek.
After getting up and making my bed i went to the bathroom to see in the mirror a pair of shining brown eyes and my straight chocolate brown hair sliding up to my shoulder. Smiling i completed my Good morning to myself. I do this everyday as a routine and it makes me feel all warm and cozy inside knowing that a new morning means a new day to live my beautiful life.
After freshening up and tying my hair in a small ponytail i go around my house finding my little brother Albus knowing he is already up and doing something disastrous which he bravely explains as as a young scientist's adventure of learning.
On entering the kitchen i find my sister from another mother a.k.a my best friend and my treasure sabrina making sandwiches for breakfast.
Once i graduated i felt that the chaotic life of new york where my family and i lived was not made for me. I wanted a place that i could love and call home and thats when i found about stella springs away from all problems,a town of lakes and breathtaking beauty. Me and sabrina had already decided to start our own baking venture from the beginning and when i told her about stella springs over the phone she packed her bags and came knocking at my door saying we need to leave.
She and i have been best friends since i cant even remember, we were neighbours and she became the best thing ever that happened to my life she was my positive energy at all times. After coming here she started dating a really cute guy one of our regular customers
Harry. He's been like the male best friend i always wanted and his friend jeffrey has been like a possessive big brother to me and sabrina. It's been 3 years of them dating and i have made sabrina sign the "MAKE ME YOUR MAID OF HONOUR" contract already because i with all my heart believe they'll get married and to it she replied "duh who else gonna be that alibear". You see why she's my prized possession.
When we told our parents about leaving my parents supported me so much that they thought of sending my little eleven year old brother along with me would make me feel close to family. Well i love him with everything inside me but the situation didn't turn out that good.
Well i can't really blame him he's a teen but he has a tendency to carry out weird experiments all over the house.
Last week he was doing an experiment with glue,and i quote him-
"When the sudden urge to eat occupied my mind i became unaware about the glue in my hands and went and held the handle to the microwave door it was not intentional."
On the inside i was just screaming yes albus the "GLUE THE MICROWAVE DOOR" paper in your file of experiments just proves your innocence.
Well me and sabrina were too lazy to fix it so it stays like that until we get tired of using the microwave of my cafe and bringing home the food.
Bringing albus together did prove to be a great decision inspite of him being moody,dramatic,a headache,a baby and every other word that means albus.
Our lives have been extremely beautiful due to the welcoming people of our neighborhood, they have been nothing but loving and caring towards us especially the William family living beside our house, we have been like a family due to 3 factors:
1.) They have two daughters jane and kate. While jane is of my and Sabrina's age,
Kate is in albus's grade and goes to the same school as him. And they have been great friends to us.
2.) Mr. William makes killer chicken stew every weekend.
3.) Grandma william is a goddess. I mean it. She came to live here when Mrs. William passed away when the kids were really young and needed a motherly figure. I call her gammy as both my grandmothers passed away when i was really young so she's given me all the grandmother experience i have. She's a woman you'll feel honoured to know and she's the girlfriend every girl wants and needs.

Living here has been dreamy with beautiful people in my life,a perfect home and a magnificent cafe to celebrate my exciting life everyday with all kinds of different people. But i always felt an attraction toward helping people especially teens. Teenage is a vulnerable period of time, i always felt that if i had an understanding adult at that period of time it would have been great so thus i wanted to give the teens of now what i couldn't have thats why i joined the teen book project where i can help teens of nearby areas as well as stella springs by visiting them once a week and helping them in small things like school projects, functions or ideas for new things, or simply helping them making life easier because lets face it teen life is hard because we are just figuring out things. This project has made everything complete in my life well sabrina says im forgetting something but i don't know what. So yeah I've spent 4 beautiful years in stella springs and loved all of it.
Well back to the present as i enter the kitchen sabrina looks up at me and says
"Good morning alibear" in a sing song voice i wish her back and as soon as i sit on the barstools in front of the kitchen platform i hear a loud sound and turn to see my brother rolling down the stairs and i mean literally rolling. As soon as he sees us he sits up and says " Ladies" and we reply with a "albus" in a similar tone.
As soon as he sees the stack of pancakes sabrina made he runs and sits on the stool next to me
"Well albus that was quite the entry what were you upto" i ask pretending to be really curious, to which he replies " a magician never reveals his secrets dear sister".
Sabrina actually snorts to that reply and all three of us end up laughing.
After eating our breakfasts sabrina leaves for the cafe while i get ready to drop albus and kate to the school.
"Albus are you ready?" I scream standing at the foyer trying to find my car keys. "Im in the car" he shouts back from the garage and when i go there he's jingling the keys at my face and kate is already there seated with him. I just sigh and get in.
"Good moring girlfriend" kate wishes in her sweet chirpy voice.
"Good morning katey, we have our library date today dont you dare forget" to which she makes a sign of crossing her heart.
After leaving the kids at school i reach the cafe. As i open the door the sweet little bell chimes that i love and always wanted to have to make each customer's entry a bit more special. Sabrina is brewing coffee for our few early customers i check with her if she needs help and move on to place menus on the tables and setting everything up,and looking at the online catering orders. After im done and seeing its still early for customers i check my emails and find a few things here and there but what catches my eyes is the my new email from the teen book project that says i have to help a kid in a nearby town of oakridge in the coming week.
I feel really excited and fit the dates in my schedule, if only i realized how these dates would change my life.
