I glance over at Marcy and see she is circling her thumbs, she does that when she is nervous. I could sense she was quiet when I picked her up this morning but I just brushed it off as tiredness however, I'm beginning to think there's more to it.
After our first date together I wasn’t sure if we would see each other again, it was definitely a strange one, although I can’t quite put my finger on why. To be fair having her mates pick her up and scoot off before I could give her a kiss was definitely a first for me, but I just could not get her out of my mind. There was something about her shyness that just intrigued me. After a couple of days I bit the bullet and text her. Thankfully she text back and she seemed more than interested when I asked her out again. Two dates turned into three and thankfully she finally let me kiss her. That only made me want her more. After a few dates she came over to mine and I really noticed her starting to relax around me, so much so that she spent the night and my god what a night that was. The more time I spend with her the more I want to spend time with her.
I’m not gonna lie, when she text last week asking if I wanted to spend Easter with her family I was definitely thrown through a loop. I mean are we really at the ‘meeting the folks’ stage already? Of course I said yes, I really like the chick but then she hit me with the bombshell that we would need to sleep in separate bedrooms! We will see about that! I text the guys asking for advice and needless to say they are finding the whole scenario rather entertaining.
We have been on the road for a few hours and the closer we get to her parents the more nervous she is becoming. Now that I know her better I find it cute and somewhat of a turn on. I just don’t understand why she is so nervous, I’m the one meeting the parents and about to pull off mission impossible to get laid.
“You ok beautiful?” I ask, breaking the silence.
“Yeah” there’s that anxious smile of hers.
“You nervous?”
“Pssh no.” I can’t help but chuckle at her feeble attempt to sound confident. I reach over and hold her hand. This girl has no idea how great she really is. When she relaxes and lets herself be Marcy she truly is amazing to be around but for some reason she puts up a wall, like she tries to be someone she isn’t in order to better herself. I only wish she would realise that she doesn’t need to put on an act. She grips my hand and from the corner of my eye I see her smile. There’s my Marcy.
We sit in a comfortable silence which is something we very quickly have been able to do. I say silence however we can hear CJ moving about in the back. He is a great traveller, spends his time with his head out the window letting the wind hit his face. I found it pretty comical earlier when I strapped him in the back of the truck. He usually sits up front me so I received a look asking what the hell I was playing at. He soon calmed down though when he saw Marcy. He absolutely adores her, which is a big deal for me. Not only because dogs are a great judge of character but because CJ is a big part of my life, we come as a package deal.
“Oh, turn here,” Marcy quickly says while pointing to a driveway. I take a sharp turn before nearly missing it altogether. I blink twice when looking at the name on the sign.
“You have your own road named after your family?”
“It’s a large property.” I notice she slinks into her seat but before I can say anything my attention is diverted by the size of the place. There are large fields with numerous animals occupying them. I’ve already noticed cows and horses. Shit CJ is going to have a whale of a time, he’s already started to pad his paws and his tail is slapping the back of the seat like a first class drummer in a band.
Marcy turns to look at CJ, “Are you excited boy?” She lets out a little giggle and I know instantly that CJ is smiling at her, she finds it hilarious that he has a proper smile. “Ready to chase some cows? Maybe some chickens?”
