I was terrified when the large dog came at me. It looked like it had come from hell itself.
I ran.
Well, I tried! Curse that awful boy who got in my way. I ran straight into him, and he stumbled back in surprise, but he recovered quickly.
I tried not to gasp, as he drew out a sword. I took a couple steps back, afraid that the dog was his, and he was some kind of crazy murderer, but he ran right past me and took on the dog.
Within a minute, he'd sliced the dog, and it had disappeared into a cloud of yellow dust.
There were clearly some magic mushrooms on the pizza I had for lunch.
I turned around, and tried to walk away, but I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Did you see anything?" He asked.
I blinked. "Yeah, there was a dog, and it burst into golden dust when you killed it. Also you had a sword." I tried to stay calm, but was failing miserably.
He nodded. "Has this happened before?"
I thought about the question, and nodded. "Just once. My mother told me that I was hallucinating."
"What happened?"
"A...old woman turned into a huge bat, and attacked one of my classmates." I stumbled over my words.
He studied me, and light seemed to cross his face. He glanced up, and his eyes widened. "A daughter of Hephaestus..." He muttered, and grabbed my arm. " Come with me."
"What do you mean?"
He glanced back. "I'm taking you where you'll be safe, or there may be more attacks like that."
I was shell shocked, and I wasn't sure what else to do, and I didn't want anything else like this to happen again, so I went with him.
We drove silently for a few minutes, and then he asked me, "what's your name?"
"Nancy Bobofit..." I answered, my voice still shaking.
He nodded, a strange expression, was it forgiving? "Percy Jackson son of Poseidon, nice to meet you Nancy."
Sorry it's so short, I just realized today that I hadn't posted in a while, so I wrote something quick. -Raylacon
