Maou Senki: Chronicles of the Makai Unification

Prologue

A note before starting. This story has no relation with my other stories like Suikoden Senki or Brittonum Senki, this takes place in a totally different world.

[P.O.V. Katsuie]

"Ugh... Damn..." I groaned as I walked tirelessly through this forest... Which creeps me out with how dark it is despite the fact that it was still daylight.

Let's see if I remember somethings.

First, my name is Genji Katsuie, I was a Second-Year High School student. I was hanging around my usual spot after school with my friends, until out of nowhere an kind of magic circle appeared on my feets and here I was... on this creepy forest.

"Oh man... Please don't tell me I got caught up in that Isekai trend." I muttered my thoughts fearfully. Well, I like the Isekai genre more than anything, but it didn't mean that I wanted to be part of it!

Leaving that aside, since I first came into this forest, I haven't found anyone resambling an summoner nor I have found a magic sword.

In other words... I was totally defenseless against any threat that may come.

"I just hope that this is one of those soft worlds where there's almost no-danger around..." I spoke to myself in hope that it would be the case in this situation, since there are worlds which are more softer than the other.

But... that proved to be an hopeless thinkink.

"(Menacing growl)..." I gulped pretty hard when I heard that.

I slowly turned around...

To see that it was an weird monster with eight arms and looked like a fusion between a bear and a lion.

"Ha... hahahaha... SHIT!!!" I first laughed weakely before I made a run for it like my life depended on it, which it is.

Like it is expected, the monster began to persue me in order to eat me. It was quite obvious that thing was much endurable and faster than me, so I have to rely on my wits to survive this as best as I can.

"This isn't a soft world at all!!!" I yelled out in fear as I kept running for my life.

Fuck that bullshit the Jedi say about not being tries, because right now I will try my hardest to live through this!

I used the terrain on my favor, since the monster was too big to go through the routes I took. But it was also strong enough to break through them.

My last attempt was at an enclosed space at some rock landscape.

I began to crawl through an hole which was good enough for me to go through.

The hole took me into some kind of cave which... I had to admit was comfortable enough.

I suddenly heard the monster being close on my location.

"Please... don't have an great sense of smell." I whispered as I tried to control my breathing so the monster wouldn't hear me.

After some seconds of praying... I stopped hearing the monster, which means he gave up.

"Phew..." I sighed in relief... That was an scary situation that I don't want to repeat again.

Anyway... Now that I look around this... cave?

"Where I am?" I question since this place looked way too decorated to be an mere cave. This place looked like some sort of ruins like you would see in the Indiana Jones' movies.

Hey! Just because I am Japanese, doesn't means that I don't know anything about Western movies!

Well... I decided to explore a bit since I didn't feel any sort of presence around this place at all.
