Today is the day. All the maids and butlers rushing and running. The princess seated in the centre of the room, receiving all the attention. Several maids surrounding her, mending her elegant white dress, applying beautiful and gorgeous makeup and professionally styling her hair. There were huge shiny pearls and diamonds in her hair, dress and her accessories like a bright jewel.

"Katherine, come here!" shouted one of the maids at me while waving her hand. I am used to such treatment so I said nothing and obediently walked over. My response made other maids who witnessed giggle behind me, not that I care today is a very important day.

I proceed to my seat with a simple white dress with patterns and glitter here and there, maids styling my hair and applying fair makeup on nothing too fancy, after all, I am just dull coal, unlike the shining diamond.

Walking down the aisle as a family with father, mother, the diamond Stella and myself. The three of them smiled and greeted the guests while perfectly giving off the happy family vibes. Oh god, why was I born? I have no reason to be here. I joined them while trying my best to ignore the bias remarks of the audience.

"Stella looks so beautiful!!"

"Why can't Katherine be like her?"

"Look at her face, she doesn't even smile."

"Oh my! I'm definitely going to ask Stella for a dance."

"I may look better than Katherine, don't you think? Hahaha!"

I glanced toward Stella and saw a smirk on her face while she looked at me in return. The high heels she was given were higher than mine to make her look superior. But it was fine, I was doing this for her, am I not? I gave a glance at my parents and saw them smile happily like nothing is happening. I followed and smiled as well with a bitter feeling erupting deep within me. My throat began to feel dry but I paid it no care. 'When was the last time I cried?' I thought to myself.

The greetings ended and now the dancing began. As I looked over to Stella, I saw a huge line of gentlemen calmly waiting to dance with her. I looked in front of me and saw an empty, quiet pathway. I already expected that though. I took a cup of juice to moisten my throat and make the tightness disappear.

I proceed to the balcony to get fresh air. The cool lively breeze fondled my hair gently making me feel comfy and relaxed. Continuing my drink I close my eyes and enjoy the whispers of the wind and the ocean waves splashing. I thought to myself if I were to die, would I be in peace?...
