Narrator's POV
It's been a couple of days since Shawn was shot by Dwayne. When his family heard the news they were shocked and angered, Especially Malik. Him and Shawn may not have been on the best of terms but all that is put aside when something like this happens. But everyone in Shawn's life wanted to figure out what happened. The news was so... sudden. Not to mention Gabbie left the hospital because she was still stuck between a rock and a hard place. When Rock heard the news him and his girl got on a plane the next day. His mom was by his side the whole time and like a 5th sense, He woke up.
Shawn's POV
I wake up dazed and confused. I didn't remember much of what happened. All I knew was I was in pain. I look to the side of me to see my mom clenching my hand like her life depended on it. "You okay mama?" I asked in concern. She looked up in shock, not even knowing I was up. "Don't scare me like that again boy" She said sternly before walking out the room. While she was gone I started to remember bits and pieces of what happened. All I kept seeing was Gabbie, crying and sitting in the car. Anything past that was a blur. I kept thinking and trying to remember for a while before I heard someone opening the door. "I see you're awake" The lady said as she shut the door. "Who are you?" I asked confused, still not knowing where I am really. "I'm your nurse Mr. Taylor" She said with a smile. Once she said that I remember what happened. Someone shot me and there's only one person I was suspicious of. Gabbie's brother, He was the only person I knew for a fact was at her house. The nurse then proceeded to ask me a series of questions to see how I was feeling. She said it was protocol to all their patients but i didn't think it was necessary really. After she got done asking her questions another nurse came in saying I had some visitors. Once they sent them back I saw my three brothers Malik, Jaiden, and Rock standing side by side. "You good Gee?" Rock said, sitting down next to me. "Damn nigga, you scared me no lie" Jaiden said before lightly pulling from his vape. Malik just stood in silence, MCode may look like a tough guy but he has a soft spot for family. But I've seen that look in his eyes before, he wants to kill someone. I break the silence saying "I appreciate all of y'all forreal but i'm good yo. I'm ready to get out so I can smoke." Everyone laughs before the nurse comes back in now with the doctor so they can make sure everything is fine. After a couple of hours and them making sure I can still walk, they let me out.

Shawn's POV
Since my mom thought somebody was trying to kill me, she basically forced me to come back to her house for a while at least until things calmed down. I went outside to smoke a blunt and finally checked my phone since I haven't been on it since I got shot. I turned it on and saw a flood of text from Leilani, Pedro, even Carmela texted and called me. But one message stood out and it was from Gabbie.
Baby Gab - Hey Gee.. I'm sorry but I need some space.
I never knew how hard I had fallen for this girl until reading that text. Before I knew it I was on the ground crying like a bitch. I didn't even know how to respond to it to be honest. After a couple minutes I got up and wiped my tears. I walked back in the house leaving my blunt outside. I started to feel my heart turn cold as it once was. I just decided to sleep it off.
