~Prologue~
This was one of the coldest winters New York had ever seen.
That didn't stop them from all coming to the grand event of the year.
It was the Fords annual Winter Fest. William and Catherine Fords son Harry was nervous, the whole city knew why.
He was going to propose to his lover.
He had a few drinks of scotch to calm himself down but it wasn't working.
Most young ladies that year did not attend the parade, only because they would be brokenhearted to know that Harry Ford would never marry them.
Harry was a handsome young man of 20. He had many lovers in the past, most of them ended badly and another girls heart would be broken.
But when people saw Harry with her, everyone knew they were meant to be.
As they walked through the parade everyone was looking at the couple in awe, hoping that he would ask her to marry her in front of them.
When he came slowly to a stop the crowd gasped.
He gave them a teasing smile and walked on. The crowd sighed but just kept watching the couple walk on.
"She's gone" someone behind the crowd screamed. Everyone turned to look at the woman. Harry ran over to see what the problem was.
"Alexandra, she is gone! I can't find her," everyone realised it was Mary Freeman, Alexandra was her daughter, the whole city loved Alexandra.
Alexandra was the young heart of the city, with her grace, manners, and free will to help others.
Harry and Alexandra used to be lovers before Teddy asked her to marry him. Tears welled up in Harry's eyes, people knew then, that he still had feelings for the girl.
"When did you last see her?" Harry asked in a panicking voice.
"This morning, she told me she was going to the parade with Penny. But I saw Penny earlier and told me that she hadn't seen Alexandra all day!" Mary answered in a shrieking voice.
"It will be okay, we will find her"said Harry
The crowd all gasped as everyone loved Alexandra.
"Father!" shouted Harry. "Come here!"
William Ford was striding over to them as if he thought Harry was going to give him good news.
"What is it son?" he asked
"Alexandra Freeman is missing, we need a search party, and....and.... someone find Teddy! We need to know if he has seen her of if she is with him" Harry said.
"Okay, I see, we will station an information office at home and any volunteers can come and help" he said
"We must make haste and get home" said Catherine Ford
