You are sitting down at the back of the car that belonged to your Mother, and slowly changing the playlist on your phone, while putting on your headphones.
You are listening to your Indie playlist which helped the ride to Tokyo much more enjoyable.
You were feeling a hurricane of emotions.
Depression.
Sadness.
Anger.
Upset-ness.
And over all, anxiety.
You never expected one fight from your parents to cause a whole divorce. You were an only child. Words were spoken. Anger was spat out. Actions were done. Depression flooded the atmosphere.
Whatever you thought You really did not want to think of anything that happened. But that did not hide the fact that everything happened. Ever since the argument had taken place, nothing was ever the same.
Nothing.
Shattered glass would reappear at your home.
Bruises from your parents doing unkind physical contact with each other.
Beer bottles would be commonly found on the floor.
Never ending screams from both of your parents flooded the entire home.
Everyday was the same. Get up, not caused from an alarm clock, but from your parents constant fighting. Walk to school (Old school) with a piece of leftovers or nothing for lunch. Return back home. Clean up the messes your parents left. Head to your room and lock your door. Go inside your closet, which perfectly fit you inside. Put on your Headphones.
The headphones were the most cherished item you have ever had. Why? Because they kept you from hearing your parents' fights. You would always sit with your knees in front of you, silently crying, praying for this nightmare to be over.
Except It was not a nightmare. It was Life.
Back to Reality.
You wake up to your Mom holding your shoulder and slightly tugging on it for you to wake up. "Huh,.." You say while yawning in exhaustion. " Oh you are finally awake Y/N. You fell asleep during most of the entire 10 hour ride. " Your mother replies with a Small smile on her face. You noticed the dark circles below her eyes, which made you feel a bit sorrowful for her.
" Oh sorry Mom, heh, I guess I do fall asleep quite easily. " You say as you slowly lift your head out of the car, taking a deep breath from the clean oxygen that was being produced by the nature and homes surrounding you and your Mom.
You slowly let out a small smile as you raise your face up to the sky.
You pick up your phone that you left on the seat right before you had fallen sound asleep, and lower down your headphones around your neck. You would never give those headphones away for a Million dollars. They helped you throughout your entire life.
You let your Mother know that she should head in the apartment and take a nap, since she must have definitely been exhausted and tired from driving for a long period of time.
