HER HEAD WAS POUNDING AS SHE STOOD UP.

With a frown on her face she looked around to see that she was in her bed, but still wearing the same clothes she wore to work.

"How troublesome" she nagged herself

Y/N forced her body out of bed since she couldn't stand sleeping in outside clothes. She glanced at her phone on the nightstand, noticing it was nearly 2 am. She was extremely thankful for the weekend, otherwise she was sure she wouldn't be able to make it to work.

As she unbuttoned her blouse, she noticed a slight motion on her couch. On a closer look, she caught the silhouette of a man, gazing his eyes on his mobile phone. On a second attempt to make the image clear, she identified him as being Kenma. To which she remembered him taking her home. But why was he still here?

"Are you aware of the time?" her voice echoed through the apartament

The man almost jumped startled from her sudden appearance. He quickly locked eyes with her, being somehow ashamed to be found in the state he was.

"I couldn't bring myself to leave since you seemed ill" he said calm this time

"Ill? I had a couple of drinks, nothing more" she sighed

"It seems like you are fine" he forced a smile

Her eyes averted to the kitchen counter, where she found a mini cake from one of those 24 hours pastries.

"Did you get cake?" she asked taking out a fork to take a bite

"I thought something sweet might help with your hangover when you woke up" he confessed

"Thank you. For the cake and also for taking me home, in my car..." she felt bad since she was aware that the man had to leave his car somewhere in town

Taking a second glance at her phone she noticed a new notification from the app.

L!
I guess you had a fun night out! Ready for your next task?  Well here I come.

Task: Kiss Kenma Kozume
Time limit: today

Good luck lovely lady!!

She had to check twice to make sure she read that right. Y/N was having too much of a headache to deal with this right now.

"It's late, you should leave. I'll call you a cab" she sighed

"No need, I'll order one myself" he looked almost pissed at the fact that she was kicking him out, in the middle of the night "Be careful from now on, ok?" his hand rested on her shoulder for a bit before he took his leave

As soon as the man left her apartment, she grabbed her phone and threw it on her couch out of frustration.

"Fucking..." she stopped knowing that getting so angry and worked up won't get her anywhere

Y/N tossed her dirty clothes in the washing machine and put on some comfy clothes. She would have taken a shower, but she was way too tired for that now. So she simply took a pill to make her headache less of a pain and went back to sleep.

If it wasn't for the rays of the afternoon sun, she would probably still be asleep. She glanced over to her small alarm clock, noticing that it was past 11 am, she couldn't remember the last time she slept for such a long time. She was almost thankful for going out last night.

As she dragged her feet to the kitchen to pour herself a good cup of lemon water, she noticed the cake Kenma bought for her, still sitting on the counter. She almost smiled at the small gesture the man did for her. Wanting to treasure it, she took a quick picture that she later on posted on social media, something she hasn't done in ages, before she dug in into the cake, enjoying its sweet taste.

"I'm sorry for calling you on a weekend, I was also let known last minute about this project..." Kenma apologized for probably the fifth time since she arrived at his office

Y/N was called all of a sudden an hour and a half ago by Kenma. He said it was about a very last minute and important project that was due on Monday. So they both had to work really hard to make it on time.

"It's fine, really. After all it's not like I'm doing all the job and you're playing or something" she nervously laughed

She couldn't help but feel suffocated as the silence grew heavier over them. Normally she would enjoy a peaceful place at work, not having to deal with anyone. But the words his friend spat at her were still imprinted into her mind, besides there was that stupid task.
It wasn't like she was afraid not to do it, or what might happen if she didn't do it. But rather she wanted to allow herself to try new things and be free. Free from her 'marriage' with her workplace.

"Mind passing me the stapler?" he asked her, not lifting his eyes from the computer

"Sorry for kicking you out last night" she said as she gave him what he asked for "I was not comfortable with having someone in my house"

"No problem, I understand. Sorry for staying over without saying anything. Well it wasn't like you could respond to me in the state you were in, but still" his eyes were still focused on the computer screen

She could find 1000 reasons why she shouldn't do it, but the only reason that she should was far more important to her in that moment of her life.
Without paying too much attention to what the man was actually saying, she stood up from her desk and walked up to him, leaning closer.

Kenma noticed her presence so he finally moved his eyes to her figure, meeting a pair of (e/c) orbs.

"Thank you for the cake, it was really sweet of you" with that said she pressed her lips against his
