There are only two occasions when Jung Hyun calls her noona. First is when they're in public and with other people; second is when he's being cute and requesting for something.
Hae Sun couldn't help but giggle as he whined at her over the phone.
"Ah noonaaa~"
He was wearing his favorite grey hoodie and his bangs were partly covering his eyes. It was only ten in the evening but they were already in their beds, preparing to sleep.
"Mwoya~ hajima. It's embarrassing Jung Hyun-ah."
"Wae? Why is it embarrassing? Am I not your boyfriend?"
"Of course you're my boyfriend but I can't do it. I don't want to do it."
"But you'll only do it once! Just once, I promise! Noon—"
"— ah! Shiro! Forget it!" Hae Sun covered her face with a pillow and groaned at the thought of Jung Hyun's request.
"Ya, ya, ya – remove the pillow! I can't see your pretty face."
She groaned once more but a smile was already forming on her face. She's always liked it when Jung Hyun gave her compliments but she gets all shy every time he does. How should one respond to that anyway? When it gets too much, she feigns annoyance to calm her giddy self.
Unfortunately (for Hae Sun), Jung Hyun already knows it all too well. He knows how much she loves it when he showers her with words of affirmation and he in turn loves it when she adorably tries to hide her reactions. So what does he do when she starts to deflect?
He goes for the kill.
When Hae Sun removed the pillow, she was met by Jung Hyun's pouty face.
"Noonaaa~"
Game. Over.
Hae Sun instinctively closed her eyes and squealed in half delight – half embarrassment. Jung Hyun only laughed at her reaction but deep inside, he too was starting to feel shy with their interaction. He kept telling his fans that he wasn't cute but with Hae Sun...
"Ok ok, Hae Sun-ah. Kwenchana. I won't ask you to do it anymore."
Truthfully, she's already full of aegyo and Jung Hyun wasn't sure if he could take it if she intentionally did more for his birthday. Hae Sun will be away tomorrow for a shoot and they won't be able to celebrate until the day after so she asked what she can do for him instead. He's decided to just save it for another time lest he lose his mind tonight with her charm.
"Jinjja? It's okay?" she asked.
With a wink, Jung Hyun replied "Of course, you're already too cute anyway"
Hae Sun squealed her feelings onto her pillow once more.

Jung Hyun spent the morning of his birthday attending meetings in his agency. He normally spends it at home or travelling for relaxation, but he had to come in to discuss the agency's plan regarding the recent controversies associated with Mr. Queen. Despite the sad turn of events after the success of the drama, Jung Hyun has never felt more supported by his friends, family, and loved ones. Especially his fans! He did not expect to receive so many gifts and messages of encouragement from both Korean and international fans on his birthday.
One of the things Jung Hyun specifically asked permission from his agency was if he could do a live broadcast in his Instagram account. They initially only wanted him to record a video thanking his fans and supporters but he wanted to express his heartfelt gratitude by interacting with them in real time. After much discussion, they finally gave their approval and Jung Hyun went home happy and excited.
It was already 2 in the afternoon when Jung Hyun's manager dropped him off at his house. Hae Sun said her shoot will be done at around 4 so he won't be able to call her at least until 6 or 7 that evening. He really wanted to spend his birthday with her but he knew that with everything that has recently happened, Hae Sun's camp was the one that's doing the most work. Besides, they'll be spending the whole day together tomorrow anyway. So after neatly arranging the gifts he received in his living room, Jung Hyun washed up and started preparing for his live broadcast.
"Saengil chukahamnida" "Happy birthday" "Saengil Chukahamnida our king!"
Jung Hyun smiled as he read the greetings of his fans.
"Ne, kamsahamnida. Thank you so much for your greetings!"
More well wishes kept coming in his feed and he did his best to greet and thank them all one by one. He shared with them what he had been doing in the past days, his recent visit to his family in Busan, and what songs he had been listening to for self-healing. After a while, fans started asking about Shin Hae Sun.
"Did Shin Hae Sun already greet you a happy birthday?" he read.
Actually, she still hasn't... but she did greet me in advance last night.
"Ah.. our cast members have greet me in our group chat this morning and I was very happy that they remembered."
His fans noticed that he did not answer the question directly and some decided to ask about her more. In his previous live broadcasts, he would usually answer only a few (to avoid slip ups and unnecessary attention on Hae Sun) but he thought that maybe, they were just worried and curious about how she's doing too. So this time, he tried to read out and answer more.
"Oppa, where is Hae Sun unnie? Ah... I think noona has work today."
"How did I know that? I just know" he replied jokingly.
Jung Hyun continued reading the comments out loud when one question caught his attention. Memories of his conversation last night suddenly made him smile.
"Oppa, how does Hae Sun unnie call you?" he briefly covered his face and let out a laugh. "Why? How should she call me?"
He was so engrossed in his live broadcast that he didn't hear that someone was entering the password on his door.
"Of course noona calls me by my name" he continued. "She calls me –"
"Oppa!" called a female voice from his front door.
Jung Hyun's eyes widened in surprise at the sight of his surprise visitor. She was carrying a bag of grocery on one hand and a box of cake on another. He was about to call out her name when he suddenly remembered that his live broadcast was still on-going.
"Hae –" he abruptly paused. He immediately looked at the comments in his phone and there it was, without a doubt, that his fans heard her voice too – not to mention how much of a give-away his reactions were.
Who's that?
Oppa, do you have a surprise visitor?
OMOOO!!!
Is it Hae Sun ssi??

Should he be mad? afraid? concerned? He's not really sure but the smile on his face says one sure thing – he's elated to have her there. And she finally said oppa! Relieved that she was still busy fixing her shoes, Jung Hyun immediately bid his fans goodbye.
"Yorobun, it seems like I'll need to cut this short. Again, thank you for your greetings, love, and support. I'll talk to you again soon! Kamsahamnida! Annyeong!"
The last thing his fans heard before he ended his broadcast was –
"Omona! Were you doing a labang?!"
