It was January 14th, 2021.  Abby was at the mall with Ginny looking for a gift to get Maxine, since that day was their first anniversary of being together.

"Oh this is cute!", Ginny exclaimed and showed Abby a necklace with a blue sapphire shaped like a bear. The other girl smiled at it, "yeah, ooh look at this", she walked over to a pair of earrings with diamonds, and a matching necklace.

"Ab's this is like almost 1 grand, you already just bought a pair of customized shoes for her". Abby grinned. "Yeah, but I want it to be special, besides she spends her money on me too. And I have a job now so I'm fine", she explained. She called over the store clerk and bought them.

On their way out they spotted Max walking beside Norah. Oh god she's here, Abby thought. "Shit! Hide", she grabbed Ginny's hand and hid behind a tall plant. "Huh?- oh shit she's probably buying your gift too".

Abby groaned. "Okay okay steer her away from the jewelry store for me please, then run back and make up an excuse". Ginny starred at her before the other girl hurriedly clapped her hands. "Okay got it", she ran over to Max.

"Oh hey what are you doing here?", she asked. The girls jumped. "Shit you scared me, I'm getting a present for Abby, I'm sure I can find something in that jewelry sto-" "NO". They starred at Ginny. "They uh have a problem with mice, I went there to eh just browse cause I love exquisite... things".

"Oh I- okay ew, but where else can we go". Ginny told them to wait and quickly grabbed her phone and looked up near jewelry stores. "There's a Paris Jewelers downstairs".

The two girls started walking towards the escalator. "Right well, Austin is waiting for me, have to bring him home now, see you!", she waved and ran back to Abby.

"Are they gone?", she asked. Ginny nodded. The girl let out a sigh of relief. "Told then I'm obsessed with pretty things and that mice infested the store so your welcome". Abby smirked before grabbing Ginny. "I though we were going to the food court". "Yeah but since my girlfriend is here we can't so we'll stop at Taco Bell on the way to my house", the short girl said.

Abby heard a ding on her phone. A text from Max which said "I'm here" appeared on it. She felt a bunch of excitement swirl inside her.

She eagerly opened the door and jumped into Max's arms. The taller girl giggled and pecked her lips. "Happy anniversary". The other girl said it back. She then guided her to her room.

Abby flopped on her bed then Max jumped on her. "Well hello to you too", she said. They sat up, then Abby grabbed the remote and turned on the T.V. "Are we seriously watching "But I'm a Cheerleader again". The short girl smirked and mumbled a maybe.

Max groaned. "Hey it's the first movie we've seen while we started dating, andd I love a WLW storyline ssooo". Max shook her head but couldn't help with the dopey grin on her face.

Abby cuddled into her. "Open your gifts!", she said aggressively. The other girl grabbed them then gave the gifts she got for Abby to her.

"Aw I love this set", Max exclaimed before trying on the necklace and earrings.  Abby smiled at her adoringly.

The taller girl then pulled out a tiny box.  She started blushing.  "So um.. on my birthday you got me something that symbolizes a special bond that only you and I have.  So I wanted to.. return the favor?  It's a sapphire since you're born in September".

Abby smiled a giddy smile before tackling her in a hug.  "Thank you, I love you", she kissed her.  She sat up and gave the girl a bigger box.  "Open open", she said as she carefully slipped the ring on.  She felt her heart flutter knowing that Max feels the same way.  "Oh my god this is so sick".  Max pulled out the shoes with her initials on it.  She put them on and strutted in a joking matter making the other girl giggle.

"I'm glad you like it, now come here and love meeeee".  She smirked at the girl and jumped on the bed before hugging her.  She kissed the girl all over her face.  "You're getting lip stick all over meee".  Max giggled.  "I can't help that my girlfriend happens to be the cutest thing in the world, and you told me to love you".  The short girl was a giggling mess.  Max kissed her, "okay you can okay your little movie now", she laid beside her.  Abby snuggled into her and sighed, all problems in the universe suddenly melting away in that moment.
