This story takes place at a middle school/junior high that fangirls/fanboys go to and are educated so that they can then attend a fandom specific high school. Right now it is the last week of school, and both characters are in eighth grade.
I'm sitting at my desk, at my house, in my room, filling out a form to sign up for the school I want to go to next year. I had so many possibilities for schools, but finding which one I wanted to go to was not hard. I put down my name, age, and other info into the correct spots. The top of the page read, in big, easy to read letters, Battery City Academy For Killjoys. My name is Luna. Most girls at my school would literally kill for my name, but I didn't like it. I'm a boy. Stupid parents that make me be a girl, just because that's the gender of the body that I was given. Luckily, I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore after I went off to highschool!
I finish filling out my application form and check the time. Nine, p.m. That means I have to go to bed now. Tomorrow is the last day of school, and I really just want this year to be over. I put my form in my school folder and climb into bed.
