The heart beat

The Soldiers Heartbeat part 1

I was laying down quietly when I was awoken by the loud noise of a grenade going off next to my tent..I just heard yelling and this strange noise, it sounded like feet stomping on my chest but I didn't know what it was..I get jerked suddenly and pulled back away from the tent by another fellow soldier yelling at me to wake up but I was awake, I could feel and see everything. But I continued to hear the loud noise of feet stomping on my chest and the man crying trying to get me to wake up. I felt the weight of myself being pulled by the soldier until suddenly I felt him let go and I see him fall into the dirt with a gunshot wound to the head staring back at me with fear in his eyes.
I felt my body go numb and limp, and everything went silent except the sounds of feet stomping on my chest... I suddenly feel this calming feeling on my right hand but I couldn't move, all I could do was stare back into the eyes of the fallen soldier next to me... the feet stomping on my chest where very faint now and it was calming, but I hear a voice start to speak..I couldn't tell at first but it was a women crying.. I closed my eyes to try and listen and make out to where or who this voice was coming from.. it just grew louder and louder...
I felt myself slowly opening my eyes and feeling pain, aching pain like I had been sleeping for years..
When I started to see I noticed I was in a hospital room..I smelt the hospital room smell strongly and felt the warmth ness that surrounded my right hand I did when I was by the fallen soldier and I heard the feet stomping again..I look over slowly and notice I'm attached to a heart monitor and realize I've been hearing my heart beat and not feet stomping on my chest...and then I see this beautiful women who I instantly recognize as my wife. All she did was stare and cry..but I reached for her and took her head to my chest and as I did, the loud heartbeats in my head slowly drifted away and I felt calm..like the waves in my head settled down and was a peaceful ocean with nothing but soft waves..
