Chapter 5: Meeting The Cast

After my second meeting with the young Earl, Sebastian lead me all around the house. He was giving me a tour since starting tomorrow I'd be working here.

While we were walking he also explained to me who else works in the house.
There's a chef named Bardroy, who also goes by Bard.
A maid named Mey Rin.
A gardener named Finnian, but he goes by Finny.
And there's another butler here named Tanaka.

While Sebastian was explaining to me the house rules, I felt something or someone, run into me. Soon enough I was on the ground on my back looking into the face of someone wearing glasses who had pinkish, purpleish, hair up in pigtails.

"Ohh, I'm so sorry Ms!" Said the woman, she looked flustered as she frantically got herself up off of me.
Sitting up I waved my hand, "It's alright, the ground is quite comfortable."
I'm assuming this is Mey Rin seeing as she was wearing a maid outfit... And Sebastian mentioned she was clumsy.

"Here I can help you up." Sebastian offered, thinking of the devil, haha.

I got myself off the ground and stood up, "It's alright, I'm not that weak" I chuckled.

The butler cleared his throat. "Anyways. Mey Rin, this is y/n, she'll be working here starting tomorrow."

"Ooo A new recruit!" Mey Rin said giddily. I smiled, she seemed like a bubbly type of person. A very familiar bubbly type of person...
"Nice to meet you." She said with her hand out for a shake, and of course, you shook it.

"Mey Rin, has anyone ever told you how pretty you are?" I said complimenting her, and perhaps flirting with her as I leaned down and kissed her hand. This caused her to get all flustered and I started laughing. I think I even heard Sebastian let out a chuckle.

"Well- I uh- Thank you so much!" She shouted while tumbling over her words.
"Any day." I replied with a wink.

The butler cut in, "Well y/n, now that you've met Mey Rin, we should move on to meet the others." I nodded.
"Mey Rin, do you know where everyone else is?"

She put a finger to her chin in thought, "Well... I did see Bard and Finny in the garden earlier-
I think he's helping Bard pick vegetables for dinner, yes I do!" She ended with a determined look.
I chuckled.

"Thank you Mey Rin," The butler started, "Now come along y/n."

Eventually we made it to the garden. And being outside, the Phantomhive estate looked so huge! I wouldn't be surprised if I got lost in there one day. Looking at the garden though, it wasn't quite as grand. Bigger than the usual garden but it still looked humble, but also very lush and beautiful.
Whoever takes care of it must do a great job.

"AhH Bard! You can't pick that one, it isn't grown yet!" I heard from the distance.

Sebastian and I turned our heads in the direction of the voice. It was a greenhouse.
Casually, we walked over to the building.

"What do y'mean it's not grown yet? It's got a green too just like all the others." You heard another voice say as you and the butler entered.

You saw two people. A kid with gardener attire and a blonde man with a chef's outfit. You once again felt that familiar feeling.

"Bard, Finny, What seems to be the problem?" Sebastian asked in a stern tone.

Finny went first. "Bard came to pick vegetables for supper but he keeps picking the ones that are still growing!"
The Bard, "Well I just thought that if it has green on it, it must be ready to pick." They were talking about carrots, seeing as Bard is holding a carrot that isn't fully grown.

Sebastian pinched the bridge of his nose. "Bard, listen to Finny next time. He has more experience gardening than you."

Bard sighed, "Fine, I'll leave it to the expert."

It seems the two were so caught up about the vegetable issue that they didn't notice you in the doorway. Until... Now.

"Oh hey, who's that?" Asked Finny.
"Yeah, who is she?" Bard asked after Finny.

"This is y/n, she's been hired to work here and she starts tomorrow." He said as though he were already tired of explaining it. He probably should have just gathered everybody in one room if this is too exhausting for him...

"Nice to meet you" I said waving to them.

"And it'll be a pleasure working with you" Bard replied, and I thought I was going to be the one flirting.

"I bet Mey Rin will enjoy working with another lady on board!" Finny said excitedly as he clasped his hands together happily.

I smiled, so far these have been nice interactions and first impressions with these people. I guess Ciel is just the oddball recluse.

Just then, I heard someone running towards us. I think Sebastian heard it too since we both turned around to see and old man approaching us. He was also wearing butler attire like Seb. That must be Tanaka.

"Sebastian." He said as he reached us, "The Earl wants you in the study, he says it's urgent."

"Of course, I'll be there right away." He said to Tanaka before turning to me. "I'm afraid this concludes the tour. If you have any questions you can ask me once I'm back." And with that the charming butler bowed and began to walk off hurriedly.

You turned to Tanaka to ask him what's going on but he suddenly popped into a smaller version of himself.
You were surprised, obviously.
"Tanaka?" You asked, worried.

"Oh don't worry, he usually does that" Said Bard, "He conserves his energy or something that way."

All Tanaka said in reply was "Ho, ho, ho." and sipped some tea.

"Uhh... Right. That makes sense, I guess.."

Bard and Finny laughed.
"What's so funny?"

"Haha, it's just, that's how most people react, and it never gets old!" Finny spoke between laughs.

I rolled my eyes. Haha, soo funny.
