He knew she was cheating.

She spent too much time "at the bar with her friends". Too much time "crashing at her friend's house". Too much time "talking to her mom on the patio".

Honestly, he wouldn't mind if she were to call off the engagement. He was losing interest in her anyway.
He found himself irritated with her much too often.
Just the mere sight of her face would set him off.

It was the fact that she thought she could deceive him. The fact that she thought he wasn't good enough for her. Hell, he should be the one cheating.
She wasn't good enough for him.

Miles was in love with being in control at all times. He has always dealt with irrational thoughts and anger issues.
Some could say he's sociopathic or narcissistic. But, Miles disagreed with this on some levels. He knew he could truly care for someone. Actually, it was something he desired. He's just never found the right one.

He would usually dismiss his intrusive thoughts but this time, he couldn't let this one go.
He thought she deserved it.

Sure, he could just leave her. But, he didn't want her to be able to get away with her unfaithfulness towards him. He didn't want her to have the satisfaction of being with another man. He wanted her to pay for her betrayal against him.

The thought to kill her had crossed his mind a few times when all of her shady actions had added up in his head. But, ever since he read the text messages between her and this man, the thought crossed his mind everyday.

Ben
Last night was the best we've ever had
I can't wait to see you again
Same time tomorrow?

Angelina
Hopefully
If he works at the same time tomorrow
I'll just make up an excuse if he doesn't
I need to see you

Ben
You should just leave him already
We wouldn't have to sneak around like this anymore babe
I could fuck you anytime you want

Angelina
I will
Believe me I'm tired of him

Ben
You've been saying that for 2 months now
He's a fucken weirdo Angelina
We could get engaged instead

Angelina
I know he is and I'd like that
I miss you already
Call me he's in the shower

Ben
Phone sex?

Angelina
Yes ;)

When Miles read these messages, he cringed in disgust as it revealed how long she's been unfaithful. Two months. He had sex with her a month ago.

That night, he threw his whiskey glass across the kitchen and let it the glass shatter all over the place. He told Angelina that it was only because he was stressed over work.

He didn't want her to have a clue that he knew. If he accused her of cheating, she would tell her people. This would give a him motive, an obvious reason for people to accuse him when he finally did kill her.

Instead, he remained calm and collected. He had to plan this out intelligently.

Over the last month, he would study her signatures, her grocery lists, her notes that she left Miles when he would come home from work to an empty house.

He planned to play it off as if she killed herself. He was going to forge a suicide note on her notepad that she used often and place it at the scene.

He sat up in bed staring forward at the blank wall as he went over all the careful details of his plan. The sound of the front door opening and closing broke his train of thought.

His eyes traveled to the bedroom door, waiting for his cheating fiancée to walk through it.

"Hey babe." She greeted as she set the purse that he bought her on the dresser. Miles knew her tone all too well by now. It was a phony 'Nice to see you' tone.

Her lipstick was smudged and the top button her high waisted jeans was unbuttoned.
Stupid fucking bitch. He thought.

He uncomfortably shifted his legs in the bed as he became agitated at the sight of her face and the sound of her voice.

"Hey. Where have you been?" He asked, trying his best to keep a calm voice.

"Oh, just out with the girls." She answered with a small smile.

He felt his blood begin to boil at her obvious lies and that smug 'He has no idea' look on her face.

"Ah. Have fun?"

"Yeah. I'm pretty worn out though. I'm gonna take a bath."

Miles nodded at her as she walked into the bathroom in the bedroom.

He clenched his fists in anger as he listened to the water running.

Tonight was the night.
