A month and a half had gone by.

The news died down. Everyone had forgotten about the random girl's 'suicide' they watched on the news one night.
There was no reason to keep in contact with the police or see Angelina's family anymore.

Though, he didn't mind the peace and quiet that came with Angelina being gone, Miles became quite lonely.
But, he would remind himself that he didn't need anybody to fulfill his life. He could thrive on his own.

Miles owned a corporation so he spent his days dealing with his employees and clients at his firm. He would come home to a big empty house, order take out, have a drink, and go to bed.

He called his little sister every week to check on her and would offer to come visit but she was usually busy.

Not much of a life. He would think. But at least that bitch is out of it.

...

"Ramen or...ramen?" Y/n asked her roommate as she rummaged through the cupboards.

"Hard decision, let me think."

Y/n rolled her eyes and chuckled before starting to boil water on the stove.

She plopped down on the futon next to Jade and watched as she scrolled through a list of local hiring jobs.

"We gotta find better jobs, dude." Jade sighed.

"What about Amazon?"

"They treat their workers like shit, we'd be better off at Tavern's."

Y/n and Jade worked as waitresses at a small restaurant and they've barely been getting by.
They lived off of their tips and struggled to make ends meet every month.
They've been striving to live comfortably even since they moved to this new town.

"Stripping?" Jade questioned.

"Honestly, I've been considering it."
The two laughed. They knew they wouldn't be able to handle the stripping scene.

"Seriously though, I'm getting so tired of that damn restaurant. Did you see the way John grabbed my waist when he passed by me last night? I was so close to decking him."

"That old fucken creep. He's always looking down our shirts, too. I swear he makes the waitress uniforms V-necks for that exact reason." Y/n replied as she stood up to put the noodles in the boiling water.

"I believe it." Jade scoffed.

"What time is your shift tomorrow?" Y/n asked while setting their bowls of ramen on their beat up, thrifted coffee table.

"7. Morning shift."

"Damn, I have the dinner shift."

"At least it's a Thursday. It shouldn't be too packed. Hopefully, you get one of those old men that come in late and tip well. One of their tips could be our food for a week." Jade chuckled before she dug into her noodles. Y/n chuckled then sighed.

"What a life."
