Chapter 31: Earache

As her head shook, it was a stop to more questions. Y/N just beamed and gazed at the woman who's staring at them. The woman is too eager, and the once dull mood became an enthusiastic one.

"Can you leave the two of us alone?"

After the caretaker had left, Y/N smiled at the woman who's trying to move her wheelchair, but all that her hands could do was tremble. "You did not have to try your best, mom."

At the mention of the term, it made the older woman keener to move, so Y/N sighed and caressed her shoulders to calm her down. Too desperate not to make her daily living, all that could freely move from her was her tears.

"Yeah. I'm sorry it took me a while to visit you. I hope that Summer has been taking good care of you when I'm not able to do it around.", Y/N spoke softly, yet the woman had looked away. "I'm sorry, I know my job is against your will, but it's all that is left for me, mom. I needed to this. One day, you'll appreciate the good outcome of everything that I had risked for."

It hurt her to hear her kid's constant job, but it hurt Y/N more that the mother had once again turned her back away from Y/N. Just imagining how her mother had suffered before up to Y/N's mother was left speechless due to all the bad news that her ears had accumulated. 'When will she support me?'

"Hello, good morning.", Dahyun was smiling the brightest as the sun shone and made her skin more luminous. Extending her arms, she engulfed more of the rays. The way she looks right now, she was a shining light. "Indeed, a good morning. Hello, sun!"

Another person went out, but it seems like she had passed the eye of the cyclone. She could only gaze at Dahyun, who was having less of the problems.

"Oh! Hello there, Chaengie."

Dahyun was about to approach Chaeyoung, but she suddenly remembered the favor that involves Chaeyoung. Still, she kept her smile and went on. Chaeyoung only hummed while she drank the milk she just took.

"Eh. Trying to be healthy?", Dahyun was getting smoother to talk to Chaeyoung easily in a possible way. Chaeyoung gave another hum with no words to follow. Dahyun ran to Chaeyoung's side and noticed that the latter was not in the right mood. 'Could it be that she's getting stressed again because of Y/N? Y/N was the last name mentioned that brought out Chaeyoung's roar.'

"Are you just going to stand there or drink this milk that I poured for you?"

"Yeah! Of course! I'm a kid!", Dahyun gulped it all the way to show Chaeyoung that she wasn't against her. Chaeyoung was about to leave her alone, but she stike the topic in an instant. "Chaengie!"

'Geez. When will she stop humming? She sounds like a bird early in the morning.', Dahyun started talking. "A-ahh. W-we.

Dahyun was eager to know what Chaeyoung's reaction was, so she glimpsed a little to see Chaeyoung turning her back. Maybe she needs to wake Chaeyoung up before she goes back inside her room.

"And the thing is!", this time, Dahyun had screamed a little, which was a bit effective as Chaeyoung's body bounced somehow. "Y/N mentioned that you should have an alone time together. Y/N needed to explain something to quiet your mind."

"To quiet my mind?!"

After everything that she had seen that time, for her, it was obvious that Y/N wouldn't want the world to know that kind of dark secret. What else could Chaeyoung do? She wasn't even silenced, but why can't she tell anyone else about it?
