Soft-boy Jake
More on the Fluff side
Jake wants reader to take care of themselves better.
______________________________IT WAS NO secret everyone knew Y/N one of the veteran survivors started to stray away from the group since Yun-Jin-Lee appeared from the fog. It was nothing against the girl or the other survivors, the girl began feeling incredibly homesick and alone. Your under eyes looked more and more like Cheryl Masons everyday, becoming darker as sleep barely crossed your mind anymore- you took long walks in the forest to shake the feeling, even going to the extent of congregating with Danny better known as Ghostface at the killers border.
Although he was no help, wanting to stay in the realm.
Whilst Y/N was on her usual walk, waiting for the few hour sleep break to end- the other survivors stayed awake discussing methods to help ease the girl who some looked up too after coming through the fog, afraid and confused. Jake listened intently to all the ideas but most of them involved materials they didn't have, sure their was offering to the Entity, but even the beast had been making short appearances lately- probably busy with the new killer.
"How about a cake?" Ace suggested.
Everyone's eyes turned to the man who raised his hands wearing a smug smirk, the other survivors gave him the "seriously?" look. There were no ingredients let alone an oven to bake a cake in. Even Ash looked disapproved of the idea and they were good friends.
"Maybe she just needs someone to reassure her." Quentin spoke up with a yawn, covering his mouth.
"That idea could be worth a shot."
Felix gazed around the campfire of worn out faces, "So who's her favorite?"
Everyone's eyes abruptly averted to Jake who grew a small flush to his cheeks, averting his gaze from the staring survivors taking mental note that some were smiling. "What?"
"She talks to you the most and goes to you for help, I think you should talk to her." Claudette suggested, standing up from the campfire and dusting off her dirtied jeans.
"Think we should head to bed too, we will discuss it more after trials end again."
After talking with Danny about how he slashed Adam who kept annoyingly getting off of the hook, the Entity returned beginning trials once more- the mist began at your feet before covering your form, you could hear the smile behind Ghostfaces mask, the last thing you heard being a "Good luck sweetheart."
You were on your third trial of the day, your feet barely keeping you up anymore. The killer was The Doctor who's shocks only slowed down your aching body even more. The other survivors kept looking out for you, blocking hits you hadn't even realized were drawing in your direction. Eventually after a gen popped The Doctor had you on a chase, dropping pallets, vaulting windows- your legs pressed and pressed until eventually the exhaustion of not sleeping for seventy-two hours in the real world caught up.
Your eyes closed collapsing onto the ground, The Doctor stood confused over your seemingly lifeless body- but the Entity whispered for him to worry about the other survivors over you. After some time all the other survivors fell to the killer, who found the hatch and threw you in reluctantly, however it was Entity's orders.
You reappeared at camp, Claudette was fast on her feet to examine your still sleeping form- dark circles, pale skin, exhaustion was evident everywhere. She silently cursed at the entity as the fog formed over her feet, sending her into another trial instead of allowing her to tend to the passed out survivor.
Jake however, was one of the three still left around the campfire- his dark orbs peering down at your body, chest slowly rising and falling with each shallow breath, eyes closed lightly, lips pressed together. He stood up onto his feet approaching your sleeping form, his hands tucking under your body- easily lifting it from the forest floor into his arms.
None of the other three survivors questioned it, knowing what he was doing already. Jake found your (F/C) tent opening the flap with one hand, he crouched on the floor becoming aware of your head that now laid against his chest. He gazed down at the peaceful face for a few brief moments quickly realizing he was becoming distracted from his task.
He gently set you into the tent atop of your sleeping bag, he pulled the single blanket the Entity had given everyone over your sleeping form, he swiped a bit of hair that had fallen over your face out of the way with the back of his fingers. His breath hitched seeing your dull eyes open, his own peering down over your exhaustion written face.
"What- happened?"
Your voice was small and quiet, it made his heart hurt a little.
"You collapsed in a trial, I just put you back in your tent."
The only response you gave was a single sigh, rubbing your aching head which was probably either from the abrupt fall or lack of sleep. Jake watched you silently for a few moments trying to think of the right words to say in a situation like this, he knew nobody wanted to stay in this realm but didn't think it would come to anything like this.
"Y/N- you understand none of us want to be here, correct?"
"Yep." You popped the 'P' making his brows furrow a little.
"But we still take care of ourselves."
His eyes scanned around your tent finding food containers from the last three days, they were untouched, luckily the water bottles seemed sipped out of at least a little.
"You haven't been eating either? What exactly is your plan."
"I don't know."
He sat on his knees knowing you were on the brink of passing out again, but he was afraid another day without food would really screw you over- especially if sent into a trial, hopefully the Entity had some sympathy.
"Sit up a little."
Knowing Jake would make a fuss you sat up on your elbows watching his hands curiously, he opened one of the food containers revealing dry, but still edible pasta- he reached behind himself catching glimpse of a plastic utensil, retrieving that too.
"You need to eat before you fall back asleep."
Reluctantly, you grabbed the container and utensil beginning to slowly eat- it tasted weird but anything was better then nothing. He watched you intently knowing if he left the tent now you would probably spit the food out.
"Why are you doing this?"
"Doing what?"
"Y'know-" you started, swallowing the remains of pasta coating your tongue. "Helping me- I'm sure the others told you too, right?"
He raised a brow, "They didn't tell me too, they suggested it and I took action upon it- because you're getting worse by the days."
You ate silently ignoring his stern stare making sure a good majority of the bland food had been consumed, you had to admit though- you felt at least a little better already having a heavy food in your stomach. He offered you a water bottle which you took a few swigs of, setting it aside.
"Get some sleep-" he paused before continuing, "beautiful."
Your cheeks flushed at the name, Jake smiling softly before exiting the tent allowing your protesting body to rest.
