Following in the footsteps of Muhammad (SAW)

Greeting

Assalamu Alaikum,

I was inspired by my brothers and sisters in Wattpad to start up a series where I would post hadiths and sunnahs of our prophet Muhammad (SAW). I would like to start by describing some of the beautiful qualities of Muhammad (SAW). 

Muhammad (SAW) was a mercy to all of mankind. He was forgiving, trustworthy and only fought for his creator, Allah. He was the bravest of men with his gentleness and tender heart. All in all, he was the best and the most beloved creation of Allah which made him the perfect role model for each and every one of us. 

To begin this series, I thought that i should start with the sunnah, salaam. This is an islamic greeting with the meaning: Peace be unto you and so may the mercy of Allah and his blessings. The transliteration for the arabic is:

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Many of us do not realise that offering greetings and the manner is which we do so are very important.

Muhammad (SAW) said: "The rights of a Muslim upon another are five: returning greetings, visiting the sick, following the funeral procession, responding to invitations and offering 'Tashmeet' for one who sneezes." (Bukhari & Muslim)

Inshallah we all take benefit from this series. I hope to remind and introduce some of the sunnahs of Muhammad (SAW). He is our perfect role model so we should all try to follow his sunnahs as much as we possibly can.
