There were many people at the table I was seated at. It was a very long and skinny dark oak table with equally long benches for seats. I looked around and noticed three more sets of tables parallel to mine, I was sitting at the one furthest to the right of you were to face the front of the room. I was also seated way at the end of the table, sitting on the right side. All the tables were filled with people, including mine. Some of the people I knew from my school, others were complete strangers.
We all sat and looked to the front of the room, it seemed like we were in an abandoned church for a meeting of some sort. There was a man standing at a podium dressed in fancy clothes like he just came from a wedding. He was preaching something to us, I had no idea what he was saying, but by looking at others reactions I could tell it was important. My guess was he was giving us orders for a mission, this all seemed so familiar. I looked away from the man up front and to a small clear box between me and the person who sat across from me. It was full of paperclips. Everyone needed to have some paperclips, I don't know how I knew that.
I began to pass them out to the people around me. I gave some paperclips to the person sitting diagonal to me, they sat to the right of the guy across from me. He gave me a gentle nod before looking back over to the man up front. I grabbed some more paperclips and set them in front of the man directly to the right of me. He paid no attention to me nor the paperclips, though I knew he saw me place them. I then gave some paperclips to the man directly across from me on the other side of the table. He looked at me, smiled, then looked back to the man up front who was still preaching. I placed some paperclips in front of the guy directly to my left. He was sitting with a leg on both sides of the bench, facing me so he could see the man up front. He gave me a hefty glare and said "Thank you." in his deep raspy voice before returning his gaze to the front of the room. I saved the rest of the paperclips for myself, though I didn't have as many as the others.
I looked to the front of the room as I heard the man at the podium yell about his orders. I didn't know what was happening but I noticed everyone standing from their tables and moving into groups. So I did the same, I knew which group I was in. It was with the people I sat with. As I stood I looked around at the others getting into their groups, I was the only girl. Everyone left their paperclips at the tables and spread out across the land, and that's what our group did too.
The group and I were walking in a large field of grass. We had on uniforms that were unique to each person, used to disguise our identities while out on missions. The uniforms were based off an animal, everyone was different and everyone wore a mask to cover their entire face. I couldn't identify what animal each person in my group represented, but I knew mine. I resembled a rabbit. Real rabbit ears were sown into the hood of my jacket, they were grey and short haired. I had my hood up and wore a gas mask over my face. I wore jeans which were ripped in some areas due to previous missions. There were some slight blood stains on my clothes and mask as well. I also had black leather gloves with the fingers cut off.
While walking in the field we were searching for something. I didn't know yet what that something was until we eventually found it. We came across one of our own men, he was flying high up in the sky. But he was going to the ground rather quickly, he was falling. The member had a rope wrapped around him. There were weights in the shape of spheres at the ends of the rope that brought him to the ground. His uniform resembled a pterodactyl. He wore the wings of a pterodactyl that went down his arms and connected to the back of his sweatshirt. They were scaled and mainly black with a single jagged line of blue down the middle. He wore the fin of a pterodactyl on top of his head that was connected to the plague mask he used to cover his face. The plague mask resembled the beak like face of a pterodactyl, however the mouth of the mask was sown shut. Dried blood covered the thick string that was used across the beak of the mask.
The group and I ran over to him quickly when he crashed, untying him as fast as we could. He stood and brushed himself off, lowering his head to bow as a thank you. When he raised his head he looked past us and to the edge of the forest. "Get down!" He shouted and ducked before a gunshot was heard behind us. We were all able to duck in time to dodge the bullet. We turned to see a strange creature standing at the edge of the forest, just glaring our way. They were taller than a tall human and had a deer skull with large pointy antlers as a mask. It stood on two large legs and hunched over slightly to maintain balance. The creature was mostly bone, but the parts that still had flesh on it were covered in fluffy grey fur. You could see it's lower ribs and a thick black substance that oozed between the bones. They were holding a rifle that was pointed towards us, the end smoked a bit from the previous shot they had missed. It stopped aiming and held the rifle pointing to the ground with one hand.
The creature tilted its head up and let out a bloodcurdling screech. It was deep and demonic sounding. A few seconds after they fell silent rumbling was heard in the forest. More creatures like that one came from the tree line, hurdling towards the group and I. As the original creature aimed their rifle at us the others ran, we ran as well to get away from them. We had no weapons to defend ourselves so we just ran from the stampede. I looked back to see how far we were from them. All I saw was a bullet inches away from my face. I woke up.
