The physical training was a mess. Kugisaki and Itadori bickered with each other the whole time while Megumi, who got tired of trying to mediate their argument, asked to spar with you.
The whole lesson was chaos. Gojo, who arrived late, gave them the most vague instructions imaginable, and left saying he had "important business" to tend to. But judging from the way he was a little too excited, and the stupid smile on his face you concluded that he was up to something.
He'd receive an earful later.
You had finally had enough. The only person that was making progress on their training was Megumi.
Nobara had gotten angry and slapped Yuuji, who was visibly annoyed."You bitch!"
"What the hell did you just call me?!"You appeared in between the two, holding Nobaras hand before she could hit Yuuji again.
"Enough." You sigh.
They both looked at you, wondering how you had gotten there unnoticed.
They both looked at you, then each other, and back at you. "Huh?"
You let go of Nobars hand.
"I know I'm still new to this but that was really creepy. " Itadori pointed.
"I think you're just stupid." Nobara rolled her eyes.
Yuuji rolled his eyes, crossing his arms. "Well it's not like you know either!""Actually I do kno-"
Why on earth would those damned alders ask you of all people to be in charge of these kids?
"Would you both shut up?" You pinch the bridge of your nose, feeling a headache coming on.
"You're both annoying." Megumi sipped his water.
You stare at the first years helplessly, wondering what to do next, then feel a presence behind you; the smell of sugar and pride potent.
"Yo." Gojo walked over to you. "What's going on?"
"You teach." You pat his arm, as if to pass the task onto him. "I'm tired."
"Why?" He took a bite of a large pastry, one that contained so much sugar you could smell it. "Why do you think I'd do a better job? D'you think I do it better?" He smirked, pride oozing out of every crevice.
What a bastard.
You frown, crossing your arms and side eyeing him. "What an example you're setting right now, acting a fool in front of these kids"
You continue to glare at him out of the corner of your eyes, as he leans down, invading your personal space, and widens that shitty smirk.
The tension thick enough to cut through, and the first years could feel tension it.
"Hey, psst, do they hate eachother?" Yuuji whispers to Megumi, while nobara leaned in to hear the answer.
Deciding to spare your privacy (and also just not wanting to have to explain the lore) he shook his head.
"No, Gojos just a grating presence to everyone."
"Makes sense" Yuuji and Nobara nod in unison.
You curse the blindfold, wishing you could glare (gaze) at him right in his eyes. The stupid thing made him almost unreadable.
"I've got paperwork to do. You teach them." You state, turning around and walking back to the school.
"C'mon, I just got here." Gojo reasoned.
He wished you'd argue with him. Call him names, even punch him. Anything was better than nothing.
He couldn't get too involved.
Spoiler alert! (He did)
