I had to write this fictional narrative about my adventure when I find a ring that I can use to switch bodies with anyone in the world. I felt I did a pretty good job, so I hope you like it!(:

THE RING

That day had started like any other day: I went to school, got bored, talked with friends and went home. Well, except I had a fight with my best friend, Justine. It’s a long story. She wasn’t a good friend anyway. So when I walked the grueling 3 blocks home, I wasn’t going to take any sass from anyone.

“I’m home!” Kristen, my older sister, calls as she shuts the door behind her and heads straight to the kitchen.

“I had a bad day today, so help me do the dishes later, ‘kay?” I holler, walking into the kitchen. Completely consumed in “That 70’s show,” Kristen mumbles “’kay” through a mouthful of chips and dip. Sighing at the fact of being ignored, I enter the front room and lie down to shut my eyes.

Groggy, I wake up and I automatically notice that night had started to fall. Kristen is in the dining room/make-shirt homework room, with essays and notes sprawled out as she chats with her friends on tumblr. My stomach growls and I make my way to the kitchen that always smells like rice. Searching for a clean bowl for a snack, I find a sink full of cheese-crusted, tomato-stained and rice-dried dishes waiting for me.

“KRISTEN!” I yelp. “Are these your dishes?!”

“Sort of!” She replies from a distance. “I shared some of mom’s vegetable soup leftovers with my friends.”

“UGHH, I wanted to eat that!” I complain. Kristen should know by now that it’s my favorite.

“Why did you have to share with them?” I accuse.

“Because I HAVE friends, butthead.” She says with attitude in her voice.

I let that one go. I don’t need this. “Ughh…” I groan. “Then just come help me with the dishes.”

“Later!” Kristen says. “I’m doing homework!”

Pssh. Malarkey. “You’re on FACEBOOK.” She always is.

“It’s TUMBLR, smartie.” As if that made a difference. “Besides, half the time, it’s your mess, too”

“UGHH! Just HELP ME, will you?” I feel my face turn red.

“I said ‘Later!’” and with that Kristen plugs in her headphones and continues her laziness.

Don’t you love older sisters?

I storm into the homework room, and yank her headphones off.

“COME HELP ME.” I demand.

Kristen shoves me off of her.

“No, you don’t do that,” she says. “Do you know how much I do for you?”

“Do you know how much I do for YOU?” I question. “When you get in trouble, I ALWAYS cover for you. I always try to make you LAUGH, and I try to spend quality TIME with you, gosh darn it.”

“You ANNOY me. You’re always bugging me and taking my clothes!” Kristen fights back.

“I try more than you do! You’re always ignoring EVERYONE, even Mom and Dad. You act like you’re too cool for us.”

“At least I help around the house!”

“Not right now! I ask you to do some measly dishes, and you blow me off for tumblr!”

“This is how I relax because you’re always bugging me, you nuisance!”

“Fine.” I say, with my arms crossed across my chest. “If I’m such a nuisance, you’ll be SO happy to know I’m leaving!”

“FINE!” Kristen yelled. I race upstairs, grab some money, some clothes, and other necessities and bolt out the door, slamming it on my way out.
