Taehyung
I check the time on my phone for the twentieth time in the last couple of minutes. As I'm entering the company, I repeat in my head the docket for today thinking of the fastest ways to get them all done in no time, so I can be home drawing up my night with Jungkook.
"Here arrives the man who sold his soul to the devil", Namjoon says a little loud walking to me with open arms.
"I think you have mistaken me for Robert Johnson. Ain't no guitar in my hands", I say and wrap up a quick hug for him.
"You know exactly which devil we're referring to here. The devil in the deserted palace", Namjoon says in a Shakespearian way.
I roll my eyes and it's when they accidentally drop on Felix and Chris who are talking to one another cheerfully. They're not standing so far from us and although the little I can hear from their talk isn't something to make one of their managers worried. But the thing that is stealing my attention and in a blink makes me concerned is Hyunjin, who is resting his back on the wall next to them.
He looks anxious, and it doesn't add up to my brain how Felix, his boyfriend who was about to risk his entire career for the sake of his lover's feelings last night is now standing there not noticing the fear I'm capable of collecting off Hyunjin's expression. It might be my overthinking leading me to another unbelievable rumination, or just the responsibility I carry for the eight of them forces me to read into every nook and cranny.
"Knock, knock. He took your mind already?", Namjoon snaps his fingers in front of my ear bringing me back to reality, "Can we not talk about Yoongi for the next twenty four hours at least? Where's the boy from the new band? Yeonjun was his name?"
Namjoon sighs, "Not like I expected you to consider me a Jungkook or a Jimin. Do me a favour next time you remember how close we used to be five years ago and send me an email of reasons why you cut me off your circle, since work has become the only language we speak to each other lately"
"Someone woke up today choosing drama?", I say trying to brighten the air up, while my eyes are focused on Hyunjin once again.
"Yeonjun and I will be waiting for you in my office. TXT is the band name", Namjoon declares glancing at Hyunjin and the boys, then back at me, “Finish whatever you're up to and tag along", he smirks disappointed, and waves to someone seems to be standing behind me to follow him.
I don't even wait to welcome Yeonjun, as I head straight to where Hyunjin stands. I know it was Yeonjun by the unique, flowery smell I still recall from their audition to join our company. I may be bad at names but Jimin taught me to appreciate specific fragrances by saving them in our memory pocket. He says, 'smell is the most pleasurable sense a man should be thankful to own for his entire life. And a man who wants to be the kindest to humanity is a man who takes a shower daily and wears a unique perfume as a must'
"I didn't get the chance yesterday to express how proud I am of your courage and the way you stood up for your love. I hope your fans get the chance to be as proud one day"
I say addressing both of Felix and his boyfriend once I reach their spot, while my attention is falling fully on Hyunjin alone. Chris pats Felix's arm and turns to me, "I feel you, Taehyung. I'm a proud dad"
Felix smiles at Hyunjin gaining halfway smile back, that fades away quickly once Felix changes his sight to tease Chris, pointing at the latter's crotch with his eyes, “Our big daddy ha”
I send a hint to Hyunjin, who decodes it smartly, "Taehyung", he speaks thankfully.
I nod and all the eyes are on the Hyunjin now, which obviously is not what he is aiming for, yet he continues, "Thank you for everything. You have always been there for all of us."
