Prologue-'Together'

Yoichi's POV
Last summer...I met my person...the one I want to spend the rest of my life with...

I thought he was just a fuck buddy...nothing more and nothing less...but then...he was there for me when I needed him most...

Yoichi holds Yuki's lifeless body as he cries, thunder overhead booms as he hears the puppies whimpering.

'H...how could she be taken from me...', Yoichi thinks to himself as his tears flow down like the rain around him.

"Y...Yoichi...did you find...oh no...", Keitaro's eyes widen as he and Master Yoshi approach the scene.

"S....she was fine yesterday...", Yoichi mutters.

"Yoichi...I'm so sorry...", Keitaro says in his soft voice as he runs forward and envelopes him in a back hug, understanding how close Yoichi and Yuki were.

I felt the urge to push him away...but something didn't...my heart didn't allow for that to happen as I just sink into the smaller's touch.

"The puppies will get sick if they're out here for too long...Keitaro...please take them back to camp...", Yoshi says.

"...yes sir...", Keitaro says sighing as he lets Yoichi go, and he leans down and scoops the puppies up off the ground, two in each arm as he holds them close.

"Sh...she's gone...you! You did this!", Yoichi shouts at Yoshi.

"What...? I didn't do anyth-", Yoshi was stunned as Yoichi lashes out at him, not allowing him to finish,

"Did you put poison in her food?! Did you get that fucking doctor to kill her?!", Yoichi shouts as he gets in his face.

Yoshi hugs him, firmly as he says,
"Yoichi...I'd never do this..."

As I held onto that pain...he was still there to comfort me...

Yoichi sits alone at the pier when suddenly he hears Keitaro from behind slowly approach him.

"Y...yoichi...I hope you don't mind me sitting here...", Keitaro's soft voice says.

I met it with silence...too broken to find words to form...

"Yoichi...I want you to know I'm very sorry about what happened...I know you're feeling devastated right now but...I really want you to know that...I'm here for you...to help you get through all this...", Keitaro's voice rang in Yoichi's ear as he responds coldly.

"Don't bother...the only family I had left is gone...now I'm back to square one...alone...", Yoichi says sighing.

The rain had came to a halt, and Yoichi was soaking wet from being out there for so long.

"Y...Yoichi...you never did tell me what happened to your family...", Keitaro says, his voice trailing off.

I physically and mentally cringe as the thought of that woman...my mother comes into mind... Keitaro seems to notice this as he quickly back tracks.

"I...I'm sorry...this probably isn't the right time...", Keitaro says biting his lip nervously.

I feel my throat close up, but I proceed to say....
"N...no...I was going to tell you anyways...", Yoichi says as he feels the smaller male rest his head on his shoulder.

Keitaro's POV...
I felt like Yoichi was loosening up a bit...so I felt safe to get closer to him...

"Well...I was an only child...I never met my father...My mother, she hated me every day...because I reminded her so much of my father...", Yoichi says.
