Antithesis

Y/N's POV

It was already morning when I woke up. My eyes landed on the scenery above me. The clouds were visibly thin up high. Pink and blue streaks of light adored the calm skies. The sun about to rise on the horizon. Birds were singing alongside the gentle breeze of the wind. It was a beautiful morning, no doubt.

With a grunt, I went on to stand up and fix my beddings. If I knew how satisfying it is to sleep on the open space above my house, I would have yeeted my bed out of my window. Though, I don't think my housemate would be fine with a broken bed and a broken window pane.

Stretching my muscles then went on to go downstairs only for my nose to meet the lovely fragrance of bacon and eggs. I roamed my eyes across the room and landed on a figure by the kitchen. A tall girl wearing an oversized jacket was standing near the stove. Black apron hugging her curves, her short hair was in a tiny baby ponytail, a pair of loose pants were hiding her legs, and she was singing softly to a song from her favourite cartoon. Her back was facing me which gave me an idea to surprise her.

Making my way towards her in hushed footsteps, I suddenly poked her sides which earned me a shriek coming from the girl in front of me.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK, Y/N? THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!?", she turned the stove off before looking at me with an angry expression. I looked up at her (she's 2 inches taller than me. I had no choice) and laughed really hard at her reaction only for her to hit my arm before laughing lightly and going back to her cooking.

"Why don't you just help me fix the table so that we can eat already, yeah?"

"Yeah duh. Your hands are preoccupied and I just so happened to be doing nothing so what else am I supposed to do?", I sarcastically replied earning a pout from her.

Chuckling lowly, I went on and prepared utensils for two. Walking up beside her to boil some water for our coffee (or milk if that's what you prefer), I decided ask her of our schedule for today in hopes that its all cleared so that I can spend my time with my bed.

"Mhm! Remember that new job that I told you about?", she replied while placing our food on a plate. I remember not for long, probably two weeks ago, when Rin came barging in my room while squealing happily. She was gushing about how we landed a temporary job with good income on a certain idol company was it? She said her friend in that company ask her a favour to replace her for the mean time and Rin being Rin with her too-sympathetic-for-her-own-good characteristic didn't have the heart to say no and even managed to drag me along with it.

"Yeah. What about it?"

"Well I went to their company with my friend and talked to their boss. Fortunately for us, he understood the situation at hand and said that it was OK. So I suppose I land us a pretty great job.", she stated proudly while placing our breakfast on the table. Welp! There goes my heavenly peaceful time with my bed. I looked at her excited figure. A smile was plastered on her face while sitting herself on her side of the table. Her hands were bouncing lightly on the table indicating her happiness and excitement over the news. With a low sigh, I turned my attention back to my task of preparing our morning beverages before walking up to the table and sat on my designated seat which was across from her.

"I'm guessing we get to go there today? What time?", I asked after saying my grace. She looked at me for a second then looked up to the ceiling as if trying to remember something.
"I guess 9:30?", she shrugged before proceeding to eat her share of the meal.

After our meal, we both put our plates in the sink and I started washing them. Rin kept insisting on taking the chore but I knew that she was a slowpoke when it comes to preparing herself, especially when there's an important event coming on. She just loves to procrastinate.

When the utensils has been washed and put back to their respective places, I went up to my room and prepared my clothes. It was quiet simple. Just a f/c sweater with black lines on the neckline and wrist (is that how you call it?) Line, a f/c shirt underneath with f/b's name on it, and a pair of grey jeans. See? Simple. I prepared my toiletries and headed towards the bathroom.

Ready and all good, I went downstairs only to be met with Rin feeding her cat. She was wearing an oversized black hoodie with a "take a selfie, fake a life" printed in white bold letters (its scary how her happy demeanor doesn't match with those words), her denim covering her long legs, and she was wearing a cute pair of green socks with a cat figure on the line thing (dunno what you call it but I'm calling it line things). She was wearing her earphones while petting her cat gently, watching her eating and all, whispering how much she adored the feline.

"Where was she? I haven't seen Yuu anywhere awhile ago", I asked, pointing to the cat who was still busy eating.

"She was in my room, sleeping"

"Oh makes sense. Your child is too lazy at first but then goes hyper later. I wonder if she's gonna be OK with us leaving her alone here.", taking a glance at the furniture and back to the cat. "As far as I am concerned, I don't want to deal with destroyed pillows and sofas with broken furniture because of her running around"

"Nah. She's gonna be OK", she waved her hands indicating that it was no big deal before standing up from her crouching position. Heading towards the doorway and sitting back to put on her black converse, she continues. "We should get going. Its already 8:57 and being late on our first day is not on my to-do list", and she walked out of the house.

I groaned in frustration, knowing that that requires energy and I hate draining my energy but...I can't do anything about it now, do I? Following her, I put on my shoes and grabbed the keys before going out as well.

Walking towards the drive way (before opening the gates of course), I got in my car and waited for Rin to make herself comfortable.

"Where is it located again?"

"Just drive. I'll give you directions when you need it."

With a sigh, I handed her the aux cord before starting the engine. I had to wait for a minute for the engine of the car to be ready so I helped Rin on setting up the music. Once everything is settled, I started to drive out of the driveway and forced Rin to get out and lock the gates. She complied, grumbling under her breath about how bossy I was. She got in after and I started to drive towards the direction of the company.

This is gonna be a long day
