"Hey, Jake, wanna come over tomorrow?" My best friend Alex asked.
"Sorry, can't. I'm going to Tampa to visit my Uncle Pete for his birthday."
"Oh. Well, maybe next week?"
"Sure." The truth was, I didn't really want to go to Alex's this week. I actually did have to go to Tampa for Uncle Pete's birthday, and also to go to a Minnesota Vikings game against the Buccaneers. I know I live in Florida, but all my family are Vikings fans. Alex and I argue a lot because of it, too. But, like I said, I didn't want to go to Alex's this week because I had an all-day swim meet last week and I'm just tired. Some people might think that it's rude, but there comes a time when you have just enough energy to get you through a week of school. Then you sleep through half of Saturday, anyway.
