Disaster?

Meliodas P.O.V.

I woke early and looked over to see Kaito still sound asleep.  He looked so peaceful, but I knew something was wrong.  I know father was not lenient on his punishments.  He was always cruel no matter the situation so it didn't make sense.  Kaito and I betrayed our race and that is a severe punishment.  I knew Kaito had more to his punishment than he said, but for some reason he wanted to keep it a secret from me.  

‘Why would he not tell me all of his punishment?  He seemed so happy yesterday, but I could tell something was bothering him.  What is it?’ I thought to myself

Kaito and I were always very close so I know when something isn’t right.  Yesterday to anyone else he seemed genuinely happy, but to me it seemed forced.  I just want him to be happy.  That is all I want, but how am I supposed to help if I don’t know what is going on.  I want things to be like old times again, but I don’t think that things will ever be the same again.  I was the one who had him make that promise.

Kaito opened his eyes a little and looked over to me.

“Why are you up so early?” he said in a groggy voice

“We have to get the tavern going!  Come on now get up.”

“Oh ok...LETS GO” Kaito yelled

“Ya!”

‘He still doesn’t seem truly happy…It seems forced still’ I thought putting on a smile

Kaitos' P.O.V.

I had a nightmare about meliodas dying.  He was fighting the 10 commandments, and was killed.  It really scared me to be honest.

I got out of bed, and got dressed and so did Meliodas.

"Hey Kaito you trust me right?" asked Meliodas

"DUH! Of course I trust you why wouldn't I?" I said as I gave a huge fake smile, and jumped on him

"Oh its nothing just wanted to make sure your okay."

'No no no no no I don't want him to be concerned about me.  I want him to be happy not me. Please don't worry about a selfish piece of shit like me.  I don't deserve to be worried about.' I thought

"I'M FINE MELIODAS!  I'm telling don't worry I really am okay!" I said giving a huge closed eyed smile hugging him

"Ya now come on lets go to the others we have to find King."

"King?" I said playing dumb

"Oh ya I forgot to tell you he is a member of the seven deadly sins!"

"Really oh and are you not part of this group?" I said still playing dumb

"Ya I am."

"Hm you will have to tell me more about this group!" I said 'Excited'

"Ya! Now come lets go."

"OK!" I said fake excited

We walked down stairs, and Meliodas started making breakfest.  Honestly in my opinion I hate his cooking more than anything else in this world.

"Meliodas why don't I cook!" I said 'smiling'

"Really?!  I could use a extra set of hands!"

"Um I mean let me do 'all' the cooking!"

"Well now that you mention it...it has been awhile since I've had your cooking so sure!"

"GREAT!" I said

I went into the kitchen, and made some eggs, and bacon.  What I am not a personal cheif.  Anyway I served my food kinda proud of what I made.

"Here you GO!" I said 'Excited'

"Thank you Kaito!" Elizabeth said

"Oh and Diane here!" I said walking outside

I made her the samething I made us just way bigger.

"AH Thank you Kaito!  Your the best!"

"THANKS!" I said 'laughing a little

When I walked back inside Elizabeth's face was really pale.

"U-Um Kaito...what did you make this with..." She said

"Oh nothing not normal.  Just regular ingredients! Why?!" I said

"U-Um nothing really..."

"I want a beer..." Ban said walking in

"Hey try my cooking!" I said

"Eh- sure..." He said

He took a bite out of it, and at first he really liked it...but his face grew pale.

"I think I'm gonna throw up *gag* your cooking is worse than the captains'"

Ban then threw up rainbows.

"EHH I'M SORRY! WAIT ELIZABETH ARE YOU OKAY?!" I said

"U-Um I am okay...it's not that bad.  Maybe just a little work?" She said smiling softly

"Thanks And I will get better at cooking! I promise!" I said 'Smiling'

She only gave a soft nod in response.

"AH THIS IS SO GROSS!" Diane screamed

"OH DIANE I'M SO SORRY" I yelled running out to her

Time skip

We had all had a meeting about King, and where he might be.  I didn't really say anything though.  I just sat there with that stupid smile on my face.  They were talking about the Necropolis, and how king might be there. 

'Just keep smiling.  That is all I need to do.  I need to keep smiling so everyone doesn't have to deal with me.  I can't be a burden to anyone, and especially not Meliodas.  He deserves the world, and he has gone through so much.  I just need to help him with a smile.  That's right I should stop being dramatic and emotional.' I thought still 'smiling'

Hawk and Elizabeth were freaking out about ghost being at the Necropolis, but honestly I was not that worried.

"Don't worry I'll protect you!" I said making a pose

"Thank you!" Hawk said jumping onto me making me fall over

Time skip

We had just arrived at the Necropoils, and it was nothing like they were imagining.  It was actually kinda pretty...sure it was run down, but it had a certain feel to it that appealed to me.  We decided to get some intell on King, but we needed money first so..

"Lets open the bar!" Meliodas declared

"YA!" I said

'Just keep smiling. Push all other emotions away...'
