Luminescent Moon

As I peer my sight through the window
And the fluffy clouds move and shove,
The city lights smile brilliantly at me
For I lay alone in the city of love.
I say farewell to me dear friend, Sun,
As she goes to rest in the gentle, orange sky
I begin to head to bed thinking about the day,
A lost soul in the bed I lie.
Suddenly, a voice, soothing and assuring
Led me to the window with a fright.
Yet the voice did not come from a human,
It came mysterious in the beautiful night.
The voice so sweet like sugar itself
Came from none other than the moon.
Her name is Lumina, she's one of a kind,
Not a butterfly that came from a cocoon.
She shared the secrets of galaxies.
Time passed, I could not stay.
"Sleep my child" she said.
"Tomorrow is another day"
