"And a—"
Las Vegas, 3:54am
"That's the cue" Victoria shot her eyes to a small light that started blinking on the side of one of the van doors.
"Out" Becky motioned without hesitating, quickly sliding the heavy door open and rushing out uniformed with everyone else to the back of the house near its broad garage.
As soon as the 4 of them made it around, the garage door flung up to reveal bystanders that stood inside with weapons in their grasp. They had heard footsteps outside coming towards them before the gunshots and racket upstairs grew louder.
Chaos soon broke loose.
Lacey was completely frazzled. She trusted Sasha a lot, much like everyone else, but she was scared. Plain and simple.
No way did she want to go to the front where all the mess was. She caved and took a detour, following Shinsuke, Finn, Victoria, and Becky.
She was close, but not as close as the others as they took no time to start shooting at whoever was down there.
She got out of harms way and crouched down behind a wall as she started to feel a bit sick at the sounds of bullets hitting flesh.
They seemed so much louder than the shouting and bullets themselves.
"Hey, hey!" Victoria spoke loud enough to get Lacey's attention as she quickly and carefully backed up a bit to get closer to her.
She wasn't sure why Lacey had gone with them instead of going against what Becky told her to do, but she could tell she was scared out of her mind. She wasn't gonna shoo her off or force her to go up.
"You okay, you wanna back out?" She asked Lacey with a few quick glances, herself managing to knock down a small bit more of people with her veteran experience smoothly.
Lacey stayed quiet the whole time, unable to speak any louder than if the room had small chatter instead of constant shouting.
"I'm fine" Lacey gags a bit and closes her eyes, holding the back of her hand over her mouth, "I-I swear this will pass" she fanned her face.
"You don't look too bright at all, girlie. Are you positive?" Victoria was concerned for her, but keeping her defense up well at the same time, never turning to look at Lacey but the tone of her loud voice showing that she was being genuine.
"I said I'm fine!" Lacey shook her head and raised her voice, reopening her eyes again, "I have to do this, I don't have a choice" she huffed and quickly stood up after the whole area was cleared out, trying not to stare at the bodies that were laid out on the floor.
Becky, Finn, and Shinsuke already had their sights set on to the next section of the house before Becky spun around.
"Lacey! I knew I wasn't going crazy when I heard your voice. Why aren't you with Sasha?! I thought I told you to go up—" Becky spoke and started to get mad.
More defense was surely needed where Sasha, Pam, and Asuka were placed, they didn't need a fifth at the back where less people—though still a lot—were sure to be.
"Just—whatever, forget about it" she calmed down a bit, needing to focus on anything but this miscommunication.
"Is everything okay with the both of you? We gotta get this done fast if we don't want any backup called. We knocked that shit out but we don't know if they could still find a way. What is the problem?"
"There is no problem! We're okay, everything is fine!" Lacey nodded, putting on a brave face and hoisting her weapon on her side as she started to walk forward to the rest of them, "come on, let's go up"
