Deep Oceans

I wanted to try to survive in an ocean only world as I had seen so many times on YouTube, so I started Minecraft, created a world and selected the ocean biom.
When I entered the world, I thought nothing could go wrong. I found myself a shipwreck, looted it for treasures and wood and made a boat.
After driving around for a while I found an island with one tree. After getting more wood from the tree, I decided to build my base on an island nearby, since it was flat and had a lot of grass.
I started by building a mine to get iron and soon found what I was looking for. I didn't notice that it became night while I was in my mine and when I came up I heard the hissing of a creeper, just waiting to blow me up. I quickly blocked the entrance to the mine and decided to wait until the next day.
After hearing skeletons and zombies burn, I came out of the hole and killed the creeper and a spider, who dropped some string.
I decided to craft a fishing rod, since that would be the best way to gather food.
When I caught my first fish, I was a bit annoyed that it was a puffer fish, so I continued on fishing.
I didn't think anything was weird after I only caught puffer fishes for the entire time, so I started building my base with the other trees I had planted. I wanted to use as much of the island for farmland as possible so I built a small boat in the water right next to it.
It didn't look good, but I didn't care. I could make it better later.
I put all my stuff inside the boat and headed out to get more iron.
After getting full iron armor, weapons, and a shield, I went to explore a bit. I wanted to find another shipwreck to maybe find potatoes to farm and I hoped on finding an ocean monument, which I hadn't seen in the world yet.
