Daichi's POV

I woke up again with a pleasant aroma that's been engulfing the entire apartment.

"Coffee?"

I looked at Kuroo-san and nodded. I yawned and stretched before getting up. I stood and went to the bathroom to do my daily routine.

After finishing my routine, I opened the door and was greeted by Kuroo-san's chest.

"Move." I didn't need to repeat myself because he moved and was tailing me up until the dining room.

"Are you busy today?"

"Yeah, I am. Why?"

He shook his head and sat. We ate our breakfast in silence and I don't mind if he's this silent.

"How about tomorrow?"

"Not sure."

"Hmmm..." he said as he nibbles his chopsticks.

-_-

"That's bad table manners."

As soon as I said that, he stopped and continued eating. We were once again eating in silence.

"Are you sure that you'll stay here for a month?"

He looked at me and slowly nodded.

"You don't want me here?"

"Yes." I looked at him with a straight face and when he stared back, I sighed.

"You'll be married soon. It doesn't look right staying with me."

"I- Alright, I'll move out in a week."

It made me felt bad but him staying any longer will bring problems and while it's still early, I need to avoid those.

"I'll be free the day after tomorrow." I just want him to know because I know he'll pester me about my free time.

"Really? Make plans with me then!"

"Fine. Oh, it's an hour before my duty, I need to prepare to work now."

He just nodded in response.

I brushed my teeth, changed, fixed my hair neatly and I'm ready to go.

"Sawamura Daichi!" the ever jolly Toshi said.

"Guess what!"

I furrowed my eyebrows but still answered, "What?"

"If we solve this case, we can be promoted!" he showed me an envelope and shoved it on my face.

(ʘ言ʘ╬)

"Who told you that?"

"My pregnant husband." -_-

I remembered that he married a superior's son. But at least, he does not try to climb the ladder through connections but rather through his hard work.

I scanned the envelope and it's quite thick.

I opened it and started reading the files. the file contains a drug dealer that's been at large for the past couple of years. He's using lots of connections, be it some police officials and even politicians.

"Another undercover for me?" I ask.

"Yup. You'll do it?"

"We'll do it," I said emphasizing the 'we.'

"The higher-ups will call for a meeting later and will assign tasks for the undercover."

I nodded and continued reading the files.

It's my time for patrol. I stood up and when I was about to exit the building, I saw one of my colleagues, Bien (Byen), with a large grin.

"Hey Daichi."

"What?"

"Do you want to go to a blind date?"

"Personal matters should be said after work hours."

He sighed and pat my shoulder, "The ever straight laced Daichi."

I chose to ignore him but then he whisper shouted, "I'll email you the details! I already told them that you're coming."

I looked back at him and furrowed my eyebrows, "This will be the last." he added.

"You told me that last time." I said emphasizing every word.

"Come on you're already 24 and still single!"

"What's the problem in being single?"

"That's the problem! You don't see the problem!"

"Whatever. Work hours." trying to remind him that we're still at work.

"You should come!" he waved goodbye and entered the building while I did the opposite.

I was on my patrol for 30 minutes already when I saw the grandma I helped last time.

She also saw me and she waved, "Hello young man!"

"Good day." I greeted.

"On patrol?"

"Yes."

"Break the necks of the bad guys!" she said grinning and her hands are like broking something.

I smiled and playfully said, "Will do."

After that, I bid farewell because I need to scout the area and she's going to the market.

I was walking and making my rounds when I noticed a familiar built at a flower shop.

I walked towards the flower shop to confirm the identity. I was close when I heard the voice of Kuroo-san.

Curiosity creeped in and I am pretending to check the area around it without being noticed.

"Are you buying for your lover?" the vendor asked.

I couldn't see Kuroo-san's expression since his back is facing my direction.

"Supposedly, but he's currently not with me and he's at a different prefecture."

I smiled a little, Kenma-san would be happy to receive the flowers.

I didn't continue eavesdropping and just continued my patrol.
