Severus was slightly concerned about the fact he was laughing and having fun with the boy who had been his enemy since he was eleven. The other part of him was absolutely loving the funny little game they were playing.

It was only until the game had ended when Severus realised how close he was to completely slipping into headspace. He quickly tried to push away the fuzzy feeling clouding his head, succeeding somewhat but it still lingered at the back of his head.

"Sooo, what do we do now?" James asked, plopping himself down on the sofa.

"I need to finish up some homework, and so do you two," Remus said, gathering his books from his satchel. James and Sirius groaned and even Severus felt himself whine a little bit.

"All three you go get your stuff and I'll help you with it" Remus turned to Sirius "I won't be doing it for you". Sirius tried to hide his sheepish look as he trudged down the hallway to get his bags.

Severus had been staring at the same page of his textbook for the least 10 minutes. He had already finished writing his potions essay, history of magic was all that was left, but Severus's brain did not seem to want to cooperate with him.

"You alright there?" James asked,

"M'fine, just don't like this",

"Yeah, history of magic sucks"

"I don't know how you would know that James since you seem to fall asleep every lesson".

They all laughed at James's annoyed face, never once in his life did Severus think he would be able be so... domestic with the marauders of all people.

The feeling he had pushed down earlier was starting to creep back up again as he started to absentmindedly suck his thumb while he worked. He hadn't even noticed the thumb in his mouth until Remus reached over pulling the thumb out.

"Fingers are dirty honey, would you like something else to chew on?"

"No! I... I don't need anything" Severus could feel the heat rush to his face and averted his eyes to the half-finished paper in front of him. Why couldn't he make this feeling go away?!

"Why don't we take a break? I can ask the kitchen for some food if you'd like?" Remus said closing his books

"Yeah, just grab us some sandwiches and snacks Mooney" Sirius sighed

"Will do" and with that he left.

Now Remus was gone the atmosphere quickly changed stiff and uncomfortable, Sirius was almost glaring at Severus, who had ended up biting his nails to distract himself from the tight feeling in his chest and James just seemed entirely unsure of the situation.

"Stop being an ass Padfoot" James said smacking his friend over the head,

"Gah- Prongs what did I do?"

"Stop glaring at him",

"I wasn't- oh who cares! It's not like the brat is going to do anything! Same old Snivellus"

James stood up "WHY ARE YOU BEING SUCH AN ASSHOLE!" the yelling started getting louder and louder until the two were practically screaming at each other. Severus couldn't take it anymore, tears started to fall quickly, and he was soon sobbing.

The two boys stopped their yelling abruptly and turned towards the little "Ah shit Remus is going to kill us" Sirius said

"Is that really all you can think about" James hissed. He took a deep breath before kneeling down next to Severus.
