The Girl In Pink Sweater
*~*
One cold season, there was a girl who has her favorite pink sweater. She loves it so much. And everyone around her tell her she looks very pretty wearing it.
It is warm, cozy, a little big for her to have sweater paws but it perfectly fits her. She wears it on every occasion and even on simple days. she cleans it separately from her other clothes. she really adored her pink sweater, love if you can even call it.
"I will wear this sweater forever." she was so happy having that pink sweater.
The time comes that not wearing that pink sweater makes her sad.
She took really good care of it. Not letting its pinkish color fade nor have any stain.
One day, the girl notices that she can no longer have that sweater paws. It is still warm and cozy in its pinkish glamorous color, however it's fits her body size now.
"It's still pretty. And I'm still happy~" she said. However as the days keep passing, the girl keeps growing and growing. And the day come that wearing that pink sweater hurts her arm because it's too small for her.
But she wants it. She loves wearing it. It makes her happy.
So she continued wearing it even though it's obviously smaller than her. Everyone around her tells her that it doesn't look good on her anymore and that she should find another pink sweater that exactly looks like her pink sweater. A sweater that will fit her better.
"No, because even if I find a pink sweater that looks like this. It will never be this sweater." the girl cried.
She went home crying. She never ever wanted to replace her pink sweater, she thought. So days keep passing, and as she keeps growing and growing the pink sweater was getting hard for her to wear. She can't even put her arm properly. It's neck line was almost choking her.
One day, while she was helping herself to wear the undersized sweater, the sleeves ripped accidentally and her skin got scratches out of the split threads.
The girl immediately took off the sweater and started crying as she saw the ripped sweater. Her beloved sweater.
"I'm sorry, I am so sorry." she cried hugging her sweater.
She felt the sting on her arm and found a little wound there that she got from the split thread.
She was hurt because she's forcing herself into something that doesn't fit her anymore.
She took a pink thread and needle. Sew the ripped sleeves and when she was done she hugs it tight. She never wore the pink sweater from that time, but she always have it when she sleeps.
She also brings it everywhere she go even though she's already wearing a different sweater. Because she so love it, and she can't imagine herself without it. Everyone around her tell her that it's a sweater, and a sweater should be worn and loved.
She know she love it, but she can't wear it anymore. And without wearing a sweater means losing its value as a sweater.
She's so sad. She don't know what to do. She went away crying, alone. In that cold day, she saw another girl much smaller than her now. She remembers herself at those times that she can still wear her beloved sweater.
The little girl was shuddering in the cold with her tiny and thin dress. She was holding her little body closely to make herself warm. The big girl with the pink sweater came to her and sat beside the little one getting the latter's attention.
