"So Zane, I know we discussed this earlier but I should say the terms flat. You are not allowed to let anyone know you are the Phantom," Wells said, whispering the last sentence so no one could eavesdrop. "How are you planning on hiding it?"
"I already have it covered. It's already solved, here, why not test my magic compatibility," Zane said.
Wells looked perplexed but walked towards Zane and touched his armband before touching Zane's forehead.
"Test."
A number appeared on Wells's palm and he blew out a long breath. He took his other hand off of Zane's forehead and showed him his palm. The numbers 2/100 shined in blue glowing letters.
"What? How did you do it? This test shows that you have close to zero compatibility with the ability to use magic," Wells asked.
"It's the mask I'm wearing. It hides all traces of magic and turns me into a normal human before mana control was discovered. It also takes the shape of my face, so no one can tell I'm wearing it."
"That is quite a convenient tool. Well, that's all I wanted to speak about. Good luck trying to get promoted without magic," Wells said smiling.
"Heh, with all the praise you gave the bright and glowing stars, I doubt I'll get very far."
"You've surprised me so much already, I'm sure you can do it again. And as-" Wells was cut off as the door flew up and Amanda walked in with Alexandra following behind her.
"Jeez, what were you two talking about in here? It was taking forever, so I figured I'd just walk in," Amanda said as she closed the door.
Wells looked worried since he thought Alexandra may have heard them talking, but Amanda winked at him and he understood the secret message, so he quickly calmed down.
"Well, I finally got Zane all registered into the system, so since you're already here, Alexandra. Would you mind giving Zane a tour around the campus before school starts," Amanda asked.
Alexandra looked taken aback when she heard the request, but she quickly recovered and responded.
"Uh, sure. I mean it's not like I have anything to do. So, why not?"
Amanda laughed," Well it's not like you had a choice anyway."
Alexandra weakly laughed, but quickly turned around and faced the door.
"Zane, I'll be waiting outside, just come out when you're ready," Alexandra said, walking out the door, closing it behind her slowly so it wouldn't make a loud noise.
Zane let out a deep breath as the door closed, and his normal, ragged and destroyed clothes appeared on him.
"Oh, I was wondering how you were wearing normal clothes, but I never had the chance to ask, looks like it was just an illusion spell. I didn't even notice when you cast it," Wells said.
Amanda's eyes brightened as she dug her hand into a box that lay on the ground and pulled out a crisp, clean white males' uniform. It was brand new and still wrapped up in a magic veil, a type of plastic to keep anything completely clean.
"Medium should fit perfectly, right," Amanda asked, tossing the uniform to Zane.
Zane caught the uniform, smiling towards Amanda. She snapped her finger and the uniform appeared on him, without the need of changing.
"Thank you both, for everything. I can never thank you enough," he stated.
Wells held out his hand for a handshake and Zane took him up.
"Welcome to your new school life, now you better get going so Alexandra isn't kept waiting."
Zane nodded his head and headed out the door. As the door closed, Wells spoke worryingly.
"I feel as if we forgot to give him something important."
"Well if we did, then I don't know what it was," Amanda said, scratching her head.
Since her arm was held up, her sleeve drooped down to reveal her armband. It was bright red and had complex metal designs across it. Wells shook his head when he saw the band.
"We forgot to give him a school-issued armband, didn't we," Wells asked.
Amanda bit her lip."Yeah, we did. He'll probably have to use it today too, for the placement test.
"Indeed," said Wells," this is quite the predicament. As I'm busy after this and if I'm assuming correctly, you have a meeting after this."
Amanda nodded her head, then peered out the door. But Zane and Alexandra were gone by now. She shut the door and looked at the clock. With a whistle, she touched her armband and teleported away.
Wells shrugged his shoulders. "Eh whatever, he's Code-P, I'm sure he can solve this problem."
